My nephew just turned three and has this thing for monsters right now.  My fiance gave him The Monster At The End Of This Book (Grover!) and so to stick with the theme I decided to make the kid a monster.  I did it in a week without a pattern and learned how to needle felt the day before his birthday to do the eyes and stuff.  Many bandaids later here it is.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Blankets for nephews on: January 18, 2005 11:56:34 AM
I have two nephews, one is almost two and the other is just a week old (!!!) I need some ideas for knitting some blankets.  I've never done anything bigger than a large scarf so I'm stuck.  Also, should I do them on circ. needles?  I read somewhere that blankets are easier to knit on circulars.  Any ideas?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / help please on: December 06, 2004 12:55:56 PM
I'm knitting gloves for my fiance and I'm not totally clear on part of the pattern.  It says:

"On next rnd, place gusset sts on length of yarn, remove gusset markers, use the backward loop method to CO1 st over gap, rejoin, and knit to end of rnd."

Do they want me to leave the gusset stitches on the holder and  rejoin the rest? I'm really confused. Huh
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / "turn" ?! turn what? on: November 04, 2004 08:14:54 AM
I'm attempting to knit a pair of gloves.  The pattern I'm using involves only knitting on standard needles, not knitting in the round.  The word "turn" comes up all the time and I don't understand what they mean.  I looked in every book I've got and can't figure this out. Huh
