111  Hot Fudge Sundae Cake in Dessert by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 17, 2010 01:20:43 PM
-although on her blog she calls it hot fudge SUNDAY cake www.thecupcakeninja.blogspot.com   (....hmmmm...) Hilarious blog by the way!  anyway - completely easy AND delicious - and consumed within seconds.  In fact, I cleared the kitchen so I could take a picture before the huungry animals decended and realized my camera was dead - grrrr - so I stole a pic from the blog - mine came out exactly like the picture! (No stolen pictures - read below - haha) I'm not sure if this would be quite as delicious cold - but I never got a chance to find out - served it with icecream, and I used chopped walnuts too - yummmmmmmm!

HAHA!  I managed to talk my mom into making some at her house today - so together we threw another one together and had plenty of time to take pics with a fully charged camera - LOL
Here we go - with and without icecream!  Wink

113  Journal cover in Needlework: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: September 27, 2010 10:58:27 PM
I posted this in the Teesha Moore stitch along thread.  This is my third journal cover - I've liked each one better than the one before!  This one will be flying to Florida to live with my sister.  Smiley  These are a lot of fun - I love the crazyness of them and I'm always picking up a little charm here or a card of buttons there with the thought that they'd be perfect for this kind of project. (Why else would someone buy a string of eight squirrel charms??  LOL)  Hope you like!
Here's the front...

and the back..... (the spine has antiquey bells and buttons running down the length.)

Thanks for looking!  Smiley

Okay!  Journal #3!!  Finally finished this for my sister's birthday - only a couple of weeks late (as is tradition between her and me!)  Wink  I kind of feel like I'm getting a little more into the groove - and have been collectiong little charms etc along the way.  I did something a little different with the closure this time - oh buttonhole, how you taunt me!
the front....

and the back.....

By the way Zombie - that crocheted strap goes PERFECT with your bag - great idea!

115  Hello My Delicious Cupcake! in Dessert by thisbirdsabsurd on: September 26, 2010 09:20:07 AM
I got this recipe off a pretty hilarious blog called The Cupcake Ninja.  http://thecupcakeninja.blogspot.com/  Nothing like the smell of pumpkin spice on a fall morning (even though its supposed to be 90 degrees today - ugh!)
Really delicious and they look pretty awesome too!  (If I do say so myself - haha!)  They are supposed to be for a dinner we are going to tonight, but of course I had to try a couple to make sure they were okay! Cheesy

118  Re: The Sketchbook Project Craftalong 2010 in Craftalongs by thisbirdsabsurd on: August 09, 2010 08:39:15 AM
Okay - so I'm off to a start for what it's worth...the first one is the idea my daughter and I both had when we read the theme "I'm sorry I forgot you" - and no, I never actually did this in real life.  Wink

not as visually exciting as some of your guys' stuff, but I'm just more of a sketcher I guess.   I'm going to add different media here and there - somw watercolors and fabric, but these are the only two I have finished right now.  I'm enjoying seeing everyone's cool pages!!

120  Wine Cork Bath Mat! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by thisbirdsabsurd on: July 19, 2010 10:03:55 AM
Here's a bath mat I did for the FOC Swap.  I'm not much of a drinker so I ordered wine corks online (proceeds went to a wildlife refuge) and sliced away! (All the corks are cut in half.)  I used this tutorial http://www.craftynest.com/2010/03/wine-cork-bath-mat/ but used a utility knife to cut and used silicone glue.  I'm not sure if this was a better choice than the hot glue in the tut - but it made more sense to me.  So here ya go - the fabulous wine cork bath mat! Cheesy
