Make something for your swap partner that fits in a large plastic easter egg. The approximate measurements we are 2" wide (diameter) by 3" long (vertical diameter) These eggs will probably say jumbo. They are just a little bigger than the standard size. Ideas of things to make might be: keychains, earrings, barrettes, necklaces, a watch, or whatever else you can think of that can fit in the egg. Feel free to decorate the egg to your hearts content.

No other guidelines except try to make something that takes into account the likes of the person you are sending to. The answers to the questions are not meant to be strict suggestions for specific crafts but rather clues to what type of stuff the person likes.

I hadn't set up the swap yet, but now that I sent off my Alice in Wonderland stuff, I feel like I can organize it. I'm off to post it right now.Smiley

I got my package from Rosebridejaya yesterday! OMG, I love everything soooooo much!

She was nice enough to ask me who my favorite characters are, and so she ended up making almost everything Queen of Hearts themed. Here is a picture of the awesome stuff I got:

(sorry the pic isn't the best- I have a super cheap digital camera)

I got:

-A yummy smelling potpourri filled fabric heart
-An oh so cute charm pin
-2 ribbon pins
-1 ribbon barette
-A super neat playing card decoupaged box- that even has heart shaped red and white trim!
-Also- you can see how excited I was about the charm keychain I got because it made it's way onto my keychain before I even took pictures of it.
-I also got a really pretty headband made of ribbon which I wear as a choker with some of the lace folded under.

Oh, and she also made me a little change purse with a beautiful alice inspired art print (Dali?) transfer on it:

I hope squirrelgirl likes the stuff I sent half as much as I loved the stuff I got!

15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Customize a watch on: March 14, 2005 09:38:11 PM
I have always wanted to customize watch faces with my own artwork, or things I print out or find, but have been too scared to try. Has anyone tried anything like this before?

I had to have a picture fo the stapler by itself because it is just so amazing!  I am going to keep it under lock and key so no one in my office steals it.  I feel like that guy in Office Space now.  I feel the stapler love!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  The stapler was kind of a pain in the butt because of its odd shape, but I HAD to do it. Smiley  Staplers are so basic, and one uses them ALL the time, so it's nice to have a cool one!

I love seeing all the stuff in its new setting. Grin BTW, I didn't see them in the pic, so I wondered if you noticed there's a batch of matching pushpins inside the tin?

Thanks so much QueenofSwords.  You rule!

Why, thank you!

Wow, what an awesome swap! Marty- did you decoupage the newspaper (or was that scrapbook paper?) to the stuff? Also- are those little flat-backed jewels or sequins? Great job! I would love to do something similiar to my desk stuff.  Smiley
17  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: image transfer to tile on: March 07, 2005 12:58:23 AM

The waterslide decal sheets seem like something that would work for you. (I know that's probably not what they used, but it might work.)
18  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Tea box Rack on: March 07, 2005 12:53:38 AM
I am trying to come up with a tea rack I can mount on the wall to hold all my boxes of tea. I typically have only the Celestial Seasonings brand- they used to sell a wood rack but don't anymore. Any ideas?

I still want to do it.

OK, before I officially start this, can I get some feedback on a couple things?

The egg I think allows for the most fun stuff is (as near as I can measure) 2" wide by 3" tall.  I think they are a little bigger than the standard egg size you normally find.

Will this be ok for everyone?

I was thinking besides the fits in an egg requirement that we'd leave the limitations open- and I'll just have a few general questions people can answer so that hopefully everyone will get something they like.

Also, I think we can have the sending deadline after easter so we have plenty of time, but we should all try to find out eggs before easter so that they aren't all gone. Smiley
