1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Pretty Framed Scrapbooking Papers on: July 29, 2009 04:25:25 PM
I've been meaning to do these for ages, but this morning, I finally got around to actually getting my butt into gear.

All I did was pick some pretty papers which matched my bedroom walls, cut them to size, and whacked them in some frames. Onto the pictures:

Apologies for the glare. Apparently, glass is shiny...

And all together:

And all up on the wall:

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

P.S. Check out the other awesome artwork on my lovely wall. The amazing Japanese Garden is a photo taken by my best friend (complete with leaves he stole from the garden) - he is fantastic. And the beautiful crane was done by my boyfriend - all collaged tiny papers. By no means is my scrapbook papers in frames anywhere near as artistic as either of these, but I think it complements them nicely. I just need to find something to fill in that last gap.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Elephant Pencil Case on: February 27, 2009 09:07:20 PM
I was in dire need of a new pencil case (ie: currently all stationery items are strewn at the bottom of my bag), and thus, the super cute Elephant Pencil Case was born! WOO!

I reverse appliqued the elephants onto the green vine fabric (this tute helped a LOT: http://darnkat.wordpress.com/reverse-applique-tutorial/) so I could have elephants on both sides, but not the overkill of the super busy fabric (though I do LOVE it). Onwards for fun pictures:

Back and front together:

With a couple of pens (excuse my hair in the bottom right hand corner... the pesky stuff is always in the way!):

Thanks for looking, let me know what you think!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Batman Pyjamas! on: February 06, 2009 04:53:14 PM
It was my brother's birthday earlier this week, and he's a HUGE Batman fan. I went to Spotlight to get some Batman material to make him some PJs from, but decided that the line was too long at the dressmaking counter to purchase it. Figured I'd go back in early the next day, and pick up the fabric then.

Unbeknownst to me, someone else purchased the REST of the lovely Batman fabric that afternoon, and when I went in the following day... Alas, no fabric for me. So after going to THREE other Spotlight stores, and TWO Lincraft stores, I finally quit and decided to stencil my own.

Cutting out the stencils took a while, and trying to secretly paint without him finding out what I was doing was a bit of a toughie, but it all worked out in the end. Pyjamas were stencilled, cut, sewn and completed by 11:45pm - the night before his birthday! YAY!

Here I am painstakenly stencilling the Batman logo a squillion times

And here's a Pic of my bro, being a bit of a loser...

He does love them though, so I guess that's a bonus!

Thanks for looking, comments, criticims, etc are more than welcome!

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / New Life Bag - YAY! on: February 03, 2009 12:30:48 AM
So, my current Life Bag (A bag which holds pretty much everything I need to survive) is sadly falling to pieces, though I have had it for a few years. I thought it was time for an update!

Luckily, I'm still on uni break for the next few weeks, and my sewing machine was deciding not to be temperamental. Thus, my new bag was created! Onto the pictures:

Front View (including very handy zippered pocket):

Back View (where lace is used to cover an unfortunate measurement error):

Inside View (yay for pockets!!):

And filled with some of what it will be toting every day:

What do you guys think? Comments, criticism, etc is most welcome.

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Floral Pleated Life Bag on: December 07, 2008 05:08:23 PM
So, it was my friend's 18th the other day, and her current life bag was in tatters. In I come with my crafty prowess, ready to save the day. I deceided to make her a new one - big enough to hold everything you could ever need (hence the name, 'life bag').

The fabrics were on sale at Spotlight (yay for sales), for about $3/m, and all buttons, lace, zippers I already had in my ever-exploding stash. Anyway, onto the pics:

Here it is:

And the inside:

And a (blurry - oops) pic of her name on the front:

Let me know what you think. All criticisms welcome - how else do we learn??
