1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / bottles, jars, tins ect. Your favorite supply websites? on: June 25, 2006 09:36:41 AM
Hi everyone! I wasn't sure where to put this (admin, please move if you think its more appropriate in another section).

I was shoppin for faux vintage mason jars (if anyone knows where to get these please let me know). I came across this site: http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=43  I don't think the prices are too bad. You can order by the case or by the piece too!

I know some of you make your own cosmetics and the like and thought this site would come in handy. They also have clear topped tins that could be used for jewelry and storage. I'm sure everyone will come up with their own ideas Smiley
that is what i love about this place. you truly never know what people are going to come up with.

anyone else have a favorite supply site they want to share?

I am in the process of planning my wedding and will of course be making my own favors. I have no idea what I want to make yet but I am constantly inspired by containers.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / *urgent!* Need a little help in finishing this Bachelorette party gift on: March 03, 2006 02:38:38 PM
hi everyone
i need a little help finishing up this check list i am making.
basically the premise is that it is a drunk apology letter in checklist form. something like this: http://www.knockknock.biz/commerce/images/slideshow/slide_12023_1_Front.jpg

here's what I have so far:

Dear ____________________
Please allow me the opportunity to apologize
___ for Vomitting on your shoes/hair/new dress/in your purse (circle one)
___ for calling you a _____________
___ for calling your mother a ______________
___ for Calling your father a _____________
___ for Crying profusely in the bathroom and blowing your chances with that hot guy
___ for Showing you my breasts/ass/genitals/all of the above (circle one)
___ for making out with you
___ for forcing you to carry me for 3 block
___ for letting you drunk dial your ex
___ for sleeping with your ex
___ for peeing in your drink/purse/shoes/_________ (circle one)
___ for that hickey on your forehead
___ for letting you dance on top of that table even though I knew you werent wearing any underwear
___ for what i did to your underwear...I really regret that one
___ for convincing you that body shots really were done from the orifice
___ for talking so loudly that everyone in the bar knows about....well you know
___ breaking my fall with your body. (Im pretty sure that nipple can be sewn back on.)
___ throwing your shoes/purse/you/________ onto the freeway at 65MPH....really, at the time it was pretty damn funny
___ for whatever I did that I cant remember
___ letting that guy take you home after he gave me $20
___ telling that cop to suck it donut boy
___ getting us arrested

I don't drink that often so i am having a hard time thinking of outrageous things people do when they get trashed.
can i get a little help from my fellow crafters?
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / INSCRIBLIO!! on: November 06, 2005 07:49:36 PM
Has anyone else gotten one of these ( http://www.scrapbook-creations.com/inentoeksu.html )?
I love my new toy! I am using it on everything. I can even etch glass with it; my favorite use so far.
It's so easy to control -- though it did take a bit of practice.

i started etching a glass bottle but have not finished yet.
anyone have any engraving projects they'd like to share?
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / lil' help...how can i present this gift to my boss? on: October 23, 2005 06:41:14 AM
ok kids, i have a challange for you. I work for a small business (a gift basket shop and candy store). For her birthday my boss' husband is giving her a website. he is putting up the money so that she can open up a really nice e-commerce site.
we have chosen a designer and we were going to try to have him come in for a consult on Tuesday (her b-day). but it appears as though that is not going to work out.
so i wanted to give her something to open that would represent her new opportunities online.
i had thought i would make a giant fake check made out to "beethovenwraps.com" (that would be our we address). but that seemed kind of hokey to me.
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / how would you make this? on: July 28, 2005 09:20:53 PM
ok, i'm turning to my fellow craftsters to figure out how to make this really cool frame.

obviously I would need some heavy clear vinyl from JoAnn's or something.
i was thinking instead of making a wooden frame, i could use jar lids, cookie cutters or something a little more interesting than wood. some other shape than round.

i just can figure out how to connect everything without making the object permanently sealed inside. which i guess would not be bad, but it's not ideal. and if the frame is made so that it can be reopened, how can i keep the vinyl taut?

i'm sure with some experimenting, i could pull something together. but i just want to hear some other thoughts.

thanks Smiley
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Acrylic, faceted beads on: April 01, 2005 07:26:34 PM
Hi everyone!
Does anyone know where I can find acrylic faceted beads in bulk? I thought about buying from ebay but i need a steady source of colors. I don't want anything fancy like crystal or glass beads, i've found plenty of those.

7  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / fancy feet on: January 31, 2005 06:49:44 PM
hey there everyone Smiley
i don't sew (yet) but I wanted to show off my very sparkly shoes I made this past summer.
This is about 2 tubes of E600 silicon glue and probably $15 worth of sparkly beads.
I almost hate to wear them in public cause I get too much attention from them. A waitress told me if KISS were a girl band these shoes would be the equivilant of the KISS boots. hehe

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Asian-themed Marble Necklaces on: January 31, 2005 06:22:22 PM
I made these necklaces as Xmas gifts (little slow in posting  Grin ) I packaged them in chinese take-out boxes that had a holly print on them. Everyone liked them so much (at least they say they did) i've thought about selling them. What do you guys think? Obviously I used a mostly red theme here and would need to branch out in my color scheme Smiley

this one is my fave, i hated giving it up:
