does anybody know where to find flat top bobby pins that you can attach things too

i've gotten those at michaels --- or was it AC Moore? but i found them in the bead and jewelry section. if i come across a website that carries them, i will post it.    Smiley

Hi everyone! I wasn't sure where to put this (admin, please move if you think its more appropriate in another section).

I was shoppin for faux vintage mason jars (if anyone knows where to get these please let me know). I came across this site: http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=43  I don't think the prices are too bad. You can order by the case or by the piece too!

I know some of you make your own cosmetics and the like and thought this site would come in handy. They also have clear topped tins that could be used for jewelry and storage. I'm sure everyone will come up with their own ideas Smiley
that is what i love about this place. you truly never know what people are going to come up with.

anyone else have a favorite supply site they want to share?

I am in the process of planning my wedding and will of course be making my own favors. I have no idea what I want to make yet but I am constantly inspired by containers.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: *urgent!* Need a little help in finishing this Bachelorette party gift on: March 03, 2006 05:54:31 PM
ok, well i had to finish this quickly cause the party is tomorrow. but thanks to anyone who even browsed the topic.
here's the final: http://www.geocities.com/kellyjopson/drunk_book.jpg

i'm pretty happy with it...though after printing them i noticed quite a few grammer mistakes. oh well, i'm going to blame it on the sugar rush from the cadbury egg i ate.

hi everyone
i need a little help finishing up this check list i am making.
basically the premise is that it is a drunk apology letter in checklist form. something like this: http://www.knockknock.biz/commerce/images/slideshow/slide_12023_1_Front.jpg

here's what I have so far:

Dear ____________________
Please allow me the opportunity to apologize
___ for Vomitting on your shoes/hair/new dress/in your purse (circle one)
___ for calling you a _____________
___ for calling your mother a ______________
___ for Calling your father a _____________
___ for Crying profusely in the bathroom and blowing your chances with that hot guy
___ for Showing you my breasts/ass/genitals/all of the above (circle one)
___ for making out with you
___ for forcing you to carry me for 3 block
___ for letting you drunk dial your ex
___ for sleeping with your ex
___ for peeing in your drink/purse/shoes/_________ (circle one)
___ for that hickey on your forehead
___ for letting you dance on top of that table even though I knew you werent wearing any underwear
___ for what i did to your underwear...I really regret that one
___ for convincing you that body shots really were done from the orifice
___ for talking so loudly that everyone in the bar knows about....well you know
___ breaking my fall with your body. (Im pretty sure that nipple can be sewn back on.)
___ throwing your shoes/purse/you/________ onto the freeway at 65MPH....really, at the time it was pretty damn funny
___ for whatever I did that I cant remember
___ letting that guy take you home after he gave me $20
___ telling that cop to suck it donut boy
___ getting us arrested

I don't drink that often so i am having a hard time thinking of outrageous things people do when they get trashed.
can i get a little help from my fellow crafters?

i agree. at this point if you aren't going to do anything about it, then you have no right to complain about it. you are letting this person do this to you.
either take it to small claims or chalk it up as a learning experience.
i feel for you, i really do. you should fight for your money. even if it does nothing more than inconvienence her.

Has anyone else gotten one of these ( http://www.scrapbook-creations.com/inentoeksu.html )?
I love my new toy! I am using it on everything. I can even etch glass with it; my favorite use so far.
It's so easy to control -- though it did take a bit of practice.

i started etching a glass bottle but have not finished yet.
anyone have any engraving projects they'd like to share?
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: lil' help...how can i present this gift to my boss? on: October 23, 2005 11:19:22 AM

OR . . . see if the designer or someone can register the URL and just put up a page that says "Happy Birthday <name>, what do you want us to put on this page?"  You can tell her, with some alarm, that you've just learned that her URL is already in use - tell her to take a look at www. . . .

i love this idea! i just got back from ac moore and at this point i am making a really elaborate card with the qoute "Our aspirations are our possibilities." because she has been talking about this site forever and never moving forward with it because the store wasn't doing well in the past. since i've come on, we have been doing a little more in the way of promoting and we have more money for something like a website. her husband has noticed the growth and has generously put up the funds to build a site. hence the qoute -- because now it is a possibility.

I got cardstock with an old map printed on it (to represent the 'world' of possibilities on the www) and a bunch of die-cuts, like a computer and  bags of money (US and european -- the european to open her eyes to selling to the other side of the pond.)

ok kids, i have a challange for you. I work for a small business (a gift basket shop and candy store). For her birthday my boss' husband is giving her a website. he is putting up the money so that she can open up a really nice e-commerce site.
we have chosen a designer and we were going to try to have him come in for a consult on Tuesday (her b-day). but it appears as though that is not going to work out.
so i wanted to give her something to open that would represent her new opportunities online.
i had thought i would make a giant fake check made out to "beethovenwraps.com" (that would be our we address). but that seemed kind of hokey to me.
