13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Long distance relationship? on: January 30, 2007 07:25:34 PM
i love the picture...you should definitely frame this one.
and about the long distance relationship...i feel your pain!  my bf and i have been together for 5 years and we've spent 4 of them 2000 miles apart.  i'm originally from hawaii, went to school in oregon and finally graduated/moved home last may.  and we're still together after all that time.  you guys can do it too, it just takes work and patience.  you have to find other ways of letting him know you care, even if you can't be with him everyday.  and the great thing about long distance relationships is that you can be over-the-top-corny with presents (yay!).  here's some of the things we did...
-  message in a bottle with candy inside
-  handmade cards
-  mod-podge frames w/ new pictures
-  favorite foods
-  a box w/ tons of little love notes
-  once he gave me a school stuff set (pencils, pens, etc) in my favorite color because i was having a rough time w/ a class
-  this year i was going to make him a pillow out of one of my tshirts
i hope this helps!  good luck to you and your boyfriend!

20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / please help me lengthen a blazer! on: July 29, 2005 10:49:07 AM
i found a really cool purple tweed blazer at a thrift store and it's so cute, but it's way short. i've been hunting for and pondering ways to make it longer, but no luck yet.  plus, it's been tough to find the matching tweed fabric.  so, i was wondering if any of you amazing craftsters could give me some ideas on how to make it longer.  help please!
