71  Re: Mini holiday Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by elociNNicole on: December 13, 2008 09:50:19 AM

SO.  Yeah, I totally got the mother-load of all swap packages!  I received from Lady Llanalla today.  And, boy oh boy, did she go all out.  (Now this is the reason for the swap anxiety!!)  I was totally spoiled!

All of the loot, unpacked and unopened:

Hook and Needle roll, all rolled up.  Red with snowflakes outside, awesome skull candy cane inside:

Hook and needle roll.. also has additional fabric that folds over so if I tip it upside-down, the stuff wont fall out!  (Wisted item!!)

Handmade soap inside of button fastened cloth.  (I am sure that this has a specific name, I just do not know what its called.)  Smells wonderful!  I cannot wait to use it.  And even better... It is labeled with "N" so my grubby little monsters or soap stealing hubby know who it belongs to!!   Wink

Lilac scented (my fav!!) fizzy bath salt.  I will be using this tonight, after I get the kiddos to bed with a nice glass of wine!  I will be thinking of spring because of the great lilac fragrance.

Ginger-boy ornament kit.  These are too cute and cannot wait to make them!

Circular knitting needle bag!  I had wisted the roll and never even thought about my circs.  This is great!  (and what's inside?Huh)

I wisted a moustache ornament and have been strangely obsessed with the stache lately and Lady Llanalla took it to the extreme by including a 'santa style' and 'pucker up' along with the two manly staches.  (action shot  Cheesy )

There's more, so I am going to start another reply so that all of my pictures don't take 10million years to load!  Yay!!!!!

SOoooo, I just taped up my package for Lady Llanalla and then I look at my desk and.... something was sitting there that I forgot!!  So, after some cutting, rearranging, some  shoving and lots of re-taping... It's all ready to go out and will do so tomorrow!!

A little teaser for you, Lady Llanalla:

I am so excited.

73  Re: Mini Holiday Swap Round 2 sign up CLOSED, send by 12/13 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by elociNNicole on: November 24, 2008 04:21:17 AM
When I woke this morning, this is what was waiting for me outside my window:

Please forgive my crappy-its-5:30am-and-I-haven't-had-any-coffee-yet picture, and I couldn't persuade my lazy booty to actually walk outside to take the pic, so its done from my living room window.

(speaking about not having any coffee yet, I almost poured 1/2 & 1/2 in my son's morning milk cup.  Whoops!  but, its not like I gave him the coffee... right??)

Any-who.... I got sidetracked with my ramblings.... The snow really makes me crafty and I wish I didn't have to go off to work today... I just want to gaze out my window and be all crafty.... yay! snow!

74  Re: Fall Scarf Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by elociNNicole on: November 10, 2008 10:45:55 AM
So, I was just looking at the USPS tracking with excitement for my package from violette28 wondering if it was coming today or tomorrow.  It just said that it arrived in Milwaukee but there was no 'out for delivery' info, so I just figured I would get it tomorrow...

And then I went and checked my mailbox!!  WOOT!  I received an awesome package!  Thank You SOOOOO much violette28!

Pretty fall colors...

Lip gloss made by violette28.  I use lip gloss year round!!  And I love that it is scented and it is perfect, not sticky at all!!

Cutie little amigurumi birdy.  My 4yo has been carrying this around since I took the picture.  ::tweet tweet::

Amigurumi octopus.  I LOVE this little fella.  So cute and the colors are just too much fun.  (My kitten has been trying to steal this already!)

And last but definitely not least... my gorgeous fall scarf.  There is no mistaking that this is a fall scarf!  The colors are so similar to beautiful fall foliage and it is so scrumptious and warm.  (And I need warm... it's a chilly 31 degrees right now!  brrr...)

Thank You again violette28!  You made this first swap for me so much fun!

75  Halloween Fabric Tie Wreath in Halloween Decor and Parties by elociNNicole on: September 24, 2008 06:04:04 AM
Inspired by: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=268586.msg3026574#msg3026574  I decided that I must have one of these, so I made myself one.  I am thrilled with the way that it turned out and will also be making one for Christmas. (Heck, maybe every holiday!)

Comments really appreciated!  This is my first project that I am posting to craftster.  YAY!!

76  Re: HELP! I am allergic to blanket that I am making for my husband??? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by elociNNicole on: September 08, 2008 11:01:25 AM
Its a chenille yarn, so I do know that there is no wool in it.  And as far as I know, I do not have any pet allergies.  Its pretty mind boggling and I tried contacting the seller to find out where she gets this stuff and who manufactures it and (no surprise) she won't give me the information.

Thanks for the advice, I will try washing and drying a small swatch and hopefully everything will work out!!  (I wont be able to do this today or tomorrow as my hubby will be home soon and I had to hide it all away again... teehee)

sorry for the not-very-close closeup, our digital camera isn't the best and it shows fuzzy if i get any closer.  Tongue

77  HELP! I am allergic to blanket that I am making for my husband??? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by elociNNicole on: September 08, 2008 08:11:31 AM
I have been making a blanket for my husband on and off for the past couple weeks and I've come to realize that every time that I work on it, I sneeze a lot and my throat feels tight and somewhat constricted.  I don't know if this is just in my head or if the yarn could be the cause.  I had ordered the yarn from ebay many moons ago and have no information of fiber content or manufacturer.  Has anyone else experienced this?  I am hoping to finish the blanket soon (I am about halfway done) and then try washing it to see if that helps any.

Other then that, I would gladly take any suggestions on this matter, as I have a lot of the same type of yarn left...  Embarrassed

This is the blanket that makes me sniffle... and not in the good "tears of joy" way either.   Wink
