61  Re: Wow! I have a lot of ______ SWAP Gallery in The Swap Gallery by elociNNicole on: February 02, 2009 03:06:06 PM
I just received my package from pinupmommy!  USPS did beat the bubble mailer up a bit, but my goodies arrived intact!

I received beautifully dyed wool roving for my needle felting endeavors!  I believe that she dyed this herself.  The colors are much more vibrant then my camera would allow.  Please forgive me for the dull photos.

Thank You pinupmommy!

62  Re: OTT 20 Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by elociNNicole on: February 01, 2009 07:04:50 AM
I received my OTT from mamarose on Friday but due to 3 kids with the flu (TRIPLE YUCK!!), work, and everything else, I have not had the opportunity to post pics.  Until now!  (And before I start having symptoms of the flu.)

One of my themes was 'treasure' and mamarose22 made me the cutest little thing:

A Treasure Chest!!!  There is such great details on this little thing!  Little handles on each side, great color choices...

And even a lock and keys!

And what treasure chest is complete without some bling?  Or as I like to call it, my pirate's booty!!   Cheesy   Kiss

What are all of those sparkly treasures, you ask??? Why, dems be me jewels!  Arghhh!!!!  (sorry, I kind of ran with the pirate feel)
I don't know if she did this purposely or not, but the purplish/ eggplant color of the ring and bracelet also ties in with one of my other themes... "Eggplant"!!!  Partial action shots:

Thank You again mamarose22!  This was such a fun package to receive!  (My 4 year old has already tried sneaking it off of my crafting desk and into his room!)

63  My first needle felted object. in Felting: Completed Projects by elociNNicole on: January 25, 2009 01:03:56 PM
Hi!  My new obsession is needle felting.  I made this for mamarose22 for the OTT (One Tiny Thing) swap.  I had fun making this and loved the way it came out.

criteria for this swap was that the items had to be within 4x4x4 inches.  Which is why I had to get creative with the stem:

Just wondering for my future reference, how do some get such a smooth finish on their needle felted objects?  And I only poked myself twice!!  Darn those needles are sharp!

MendhiFae, You Rule!  MendhiFae, You Rule!  MendhiFae, You Rule!
I received from MendhiFae today and was completely in love with the fabulous package that she made for me!

Upon opening my box:

Everything was wrapped and labeled so nicely:

My gorgeous mug!  (and saucer!!)  And what could that be that is inside of the pretty mug?

It's a pretty and adjustable cup cozy!  The picture shows up more purple but the true color of this yarn is a darker shade of eggplant.  (LOVE the eggplant and the green of the mug together!  Great color choices for me!!):

OH!  And someone was jealous of the saucer:   Smiley

Next, we have 6 beautiful coasters:

An adorable Amigurumi TOAD!  I heart 8bit Nintendo!

Some Coffee that I cannot wait to try!!

And the thing that gave me goosebumps when I opened it:  (Made exactly from my wists!!!!)  I have wisted over these for some time now!  I LOVE these!!!!

And everything together!  There is one thing not pictured (because I put it on right away and forgot to take it's picture!!):  A lovely coffee colored, beaded bracelet with a coffee pot and coffee cup charm.

MendhiFae, This was such an awesome swap package!  I am stunned that this was your first swap!  You did such an excellent job with everything!  Thank You SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!

66  What can I do with this thing???? in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by elociNNicole on: January 02, 2009 04:45:25 PM
I bought this from Target almost 5 years ago and I just cannot part with it.  Although I have never used it.  I don't know what to do with it!!  Please Help!  Any ideas or suggestions are very much welcomed!  It is really great thick paper with a suede cover.  The binding pulled away at one end, but I don't really mind that a bit!

Please, let me pick your brains!  What do you think??

67  The worst thing to feed my family at Holiday festivities... in Recipes and Cooking Tips by elociNNicole on: December 19, 2008 09:04:43 AM
My DH found this recipe on the Runner's World beginners forum.  (why something this bad for you would be there, who knows!)  I made it and it is simply divine!  Although you can feel your cholesterol skyrocket.

Well, here goes... It was titled Bacon Roll or Bacon Cheese Roll or something like that, but I think that I am going to call it 'Quadruple Bypass'.

  Weave bacon strips together.

Bake at 4oo degree F until looks done.  I flipped and also drained off some of the grease.  Next time I will try cooking it on racks to help with drainage.  Pat grease off with paper towel.

When done, sprinkle with shredded cheese.  I used Sharp Cheddar.  Put back in oven just until cheese is melted.

Roll up.

Cut, eat, enjoy with caution!!

68  Bacon!! Fleece bacon scarf. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by elociNNicole on: December 15, 2008 08:39:07 AM
This was probably the easiest thing that I have ever made.  No straight lines!!  I purchased the fleece from joann's and I totally lucked out and found all remnant pieces.  It cost less then $3.00 to make!!!

I made this for my husband for Christmas because he would probably marry bacon if he could!!  Cheesy

(and of course, the baby checking stuff out!!)

Bacon wrapped baby:   Cheesy

69  Re: Pattern Testers Needed ASAP for amigurumi pattern! in Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions by elociNNicole on: December 14, 2008 11:09:11 AM
Just finished Mrs. Shiitake.  Except that I didn't have any floss and just made a regular mushroom.  This turned out a lot bigger then I thought that it was going to be!  It is huge!

My mushroom cap is about 6inches (give or take a bit depending on how rounded its formed) across.
And height is about 6 1/2 inches high.

I didn't have any floss but kind of like the look of just the mushroom.  This was really easy to follow.

I just used what yarn that I had on hand.  Some crappy Vanna's choice (yuck!  This yarn splits like crazy when crocheting with it!) in wine or burgundy for the top.  And then some red heart super saver stuff for the stem/base.  I didn't have any plastic pellets either, so I used pennies which don't work very well.   Undecided  Oh well, learning experience!

Thanks for the pattern!  It was great and easy too!

70  Re: Mini holiday Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by elociNNicole on: December 13, 2008 09:59:21 AM
More from the AMAZING Lady Llanalla:

She handmade soaps for my 3 boys with little toys in them that they are sooo excited to use.  She also made little monsters for us to craft together with bodies, eyes and mouths.  Such an easy and fun little craft for us to do together very soon.

Silly eyes:

More silly eyes:

Group shot of monsters, soaps, little handmade books, and so much more!!

There were also many other fun little objects, tons of pictures and fun graphics, stickers, measuring spoons, and I know that I am not listing tons of stuff... I especially loved this photo:

Did you take this?  I really like it!!!  So much that I will probably frame it and hang it near my craft desk!!

Thank You again!  I don't think that I could thank you enough for all that you sent!  (THIS was what I was afraid of when I wrote about swap anxiety!  I am sooo not worthy!!!!!!!)
