1  Re: Repo! The Genetic Opera Swap Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Lrigrem on: March 07, 2012 09:03:01 AM
I'm posting images for my partner since she's been a bit busy.  Here's what I made for Crying Goddess:

Here's everything:

I made a Blind Mag shadow box.  I also threw in some Z and two red & black feather hair clips, here's a close up of one:

The feather clips were simple, but I love the look.  I totally intend on working more with feathers now.

I hope she liked it.

I got my package!  I swore I checked the mail, but it was apparently sitting in my mail box for TWO DAYS.  How horrible is that?  Anyway, I got it yesterday, and made my crappy day so much better.  Of course, I couldn't fall asleep that night, as I laid in bed singing "Mark it Up" over and over in my head for like an hour.

On to the goodies!  We agree to a small swap, and here's the loot:

My very own vial of Zydrate, perfect for yesterday when I was feeling like crap.  Now I feel zygreat! (Wow, that was horribly horrible.  Sorry.)

Repo tested, bunny approved:

(I think it's readable, but if not, it says "I'm a gentern, ask me who I prefer"

And the back of the shirt:  PAVI!!! <3

Have to gush on some other projects, too.  Love the graverobber hair in that little statue and the Repo Man is adorable.  The hair feather piece is great, too, and I love the idea of a repo apron!  The hat is fantastic, and I love the chain mail - I want to learn this so badly!!!
Loved the bag, earrings, blue bracelet and Blind Mag MLP from the first page.  Such fantastic stuff!  Soooo glad I joined this swap.  Tons of fun crafting, love seeing everything!  Now I just have to wait for my partner to get her package!  Hope she loves it!

Lrigrem -  I would love to see picks of your gecko.  I love lizards.

Well, since you asked...  Wink  She's nocturnal (well, usually), otherwise I'd have pics of her in her cage with the decorations on it.

But here's my little girl, Akane (ahh-kah-nay).  She's about 9 years old, and is a Leopard Gecko.  Those are the ones that CAN'T climb up glass - they don't have 'sticky toes'.  Akane was my first pet after moving out of my parents, so she's considered the "grandgecko", and my first child.

Talented gecko, no?

You can't tell too well from here, but she has these gorgeous steel gray eyes.  This is the best close up I could find of her right now.

I GOT MY BOX!!!!  And it's big!  And full of awesome!

The loot:

What I got to open today (October 5 - gotta admit, it was nice NOT having to restrict myself the very first day!):

Loose in the box (along with a wind up pumpkin - that's gonna be fun to mess with my friend's dogs): Candy corn earrings, and a mysterious metal thing.  It looks like a base, but to what?

Day 13: An incredibly cool quilted Pirate Pumpkin wall hanging!  THIS IS SO COOL!  I love him!  His name is Jack.  In honor of Jack Skellington and Jack Sparrow.

Day 12: AH HA!  That's what the metal thing is!  The base to the COOLEST Halloween Tree!  AlmostDawn, where did you find this!?!?  I want to buy a bunch & hang all my jewelry on them!  I think the candy corn earrings & base were supposed to be in this package, and not loose, but the tissue paper teared & they fell out.  That's ok, the metal piece kept me guessing until I found the tree.  The tags says the bones are erasers - they are so neat looking!

Close up of the Halloween Tree (cuz it's too cool not to have it's own pic):

Day 11: MONSTER!

He got hungry & ate some of the eraser bones.  He said they were tasty.  I'll take his word for it.

Day 10: A bag PACKED full of decoration stuff.  It has bottle labels, a grow-your-own-mummy, bloody candles (which I just made myself like 2 nights ago! Love it, I didn't have enough to fill my candelabra but now I do!), a finger & bone mold, brains (of course), skeletons (which will get strung in a tree NBC-style), raven silhouettes, a super neat paper lantern that has bats!, & a bag of Halloween rings:

Day 9: A HOOP!  My first ever!  It's so neat!  AlmostDawn mentioned she'd hang it year round - I'm not sure I can pull this off at work (it will be displayed all the time once I move & have a craft room).  It's definitely going up at work tomorrow!  If I don't get any comments after Halloween, it'll probably stay until I move!  It'll have competition, though, as I love Jack so much I think he'll stay up after Halloween, too!

Some of the packaging was a bit ripped, so I got a peek of one thing, and one other thing had something falling out, but I actually turned my head as I held it so I didn't see what it was.  Smiley  I love the surprise factor!  I put everything back in the box gently, with the most current stuff on top so I don't have to move anything more than necessary.  It is tomorrow yet?

**Ok, I'm back!  I opened my package each morning, but wasn't able to take pics.  So I did it all this morning.**
Day 8: My papercrafting day!  Tons of great paper: awesome Halloween paper, some blank colored paper, and some really neat patterned paper (I love the cranes and the green dandelion-like paper!).  It also had glitter cardstock Halloween designs (I saw a witch shoe!) and Halloween "Glitter Transparencies".  I had no clue what this was, and NEVER would have bought it myself.  But it's awesome.  I want to buy small mirrors to utilize the frames/borders that came in this, and put the other images (spiders, etc) on windows and mirrors around the house.  It so neat, and not something I ever would have bought for myself.  Thanks!

Day 7: Transmutation Experiments.  I LOVE THIS.  So inventive!  Sorry for the mass of pics, but it's necessary to the story.  Smiley  The 1st container is my 1st Transmutation experiment (unsuccessful).  The plaque is on my gecko's cage, as she is the Successful Transmutation Experiment No. 2 - with an unfortunate side effect of a taste for brains.

Too cute!  Both are set up on top of her cage.

Day 6: I'm in love with this package.  The two t-shirts are thrift store finds (I wanna come to your thrift stores!  Mine suck!), and the thermal/henley material?  I got two amazing Mad Hatter shirts, and SKULL AND CROSSBONES THERMAL material?  I'm in heaven! This was the package that the tissue had ripped on, so I knew it had creepy cloth in it - I only have one 'creepy cloth', and it's black, and I never buy more since it's kinda expensive at michael's and I can't find it elsewhere, so yay!  I'm thinking I know what I'll do with the orange spider fabric, too.  Wink  Seriously, such good finds.  I have a couple of different plans for the thermal material - either make a long sleeve shirt (if I have enough), add sleeves to one of my fav shirts (maybe my roller derby jersey?), or line a hoodie/jacket hood. I'll think of something that will get a lot of use!

Day 5: A Faerie door!  I hung this on my wall already!  Love it!  And Phoebe approves.  Smiley  (Sorry the big image is sideways, it's the one that turned out best.

I realized I forgot to include a pic of Phoebe when I opened the box (she seems to think I get swap packages so she can eat the packaging):

Day 4: Halloween origami kit - this is really cool.  I hope to have some time this weekend to try making some of these.  I want to leave them around the office of people's desks.  Smiley

Day 3: Baby pumpkins!  Too adorable!  The note said "To start my porch off" - but these little guys can't be kept outside for that long!  They'll just have to come into work with me.  (I'll bring them home closer to Halloween.)

For size: Phoebe, my bunny is medium/large, the pumpkins are about hand held size.

Day 2: CANDY!!! Woo hoo! (POP ROCKS! YAY!)  And a pumpkin (filled with loofah) for Phoebe.  She is picky about toys, but went right over & tossed it around.  Yay!

Oh my gosh!  One day left!  It's almost over - I'm kinda sad.  But it was so much fun opening everything & crafting for this was a BLAST.  I think I'll just have to make some time to craft for myself one of these weekends!

Day 1: A fantastic tote bag with neat Halloween designs.  One side has a spiderweb & crow in opposite corners, the other side has an entire Halloween scene - a spooky tree with bats!
Phoebe, knowing it was the last package, FLOORED it over to make sure she helped open it.

Such a cool swap.  I'm so happy I did this one!  I have a new Halloween tradition now!

THANK YOU ALMOSTDAWN!  You are awesome & you rock!

ahh. yes. it was the sort of perfect crafting day that i'll tell my crafty grandkids about.
LOL.  That comment made me smile.  Cheesy

Tonks (great name!) and Bindi are cuties.

I have a bunny that enjoys 'helping' me craft.  She usually sits down in the middle of the fabric & as soon as scissors come out she follows them with her nose.  I swear she wants me to cut all her whiskers off.  (She's huge help with making beds, too.  She sits on the pile of sheets/comforter that sits at the foot of the bed 'rearranging' it for me - by digging, pushing, and nipping it into the exact pile formation she wants.  Weirdo.)

Phoebe Smiley (I feel like a camera whole for my bunny.  I think I've posted this in like half the swaps I've done... But who doesn't like showing off their crafty-helping critters?)

Mustache! I love it! I love the fabric, too. He looks like he could hide anywhere he wants. Hey, now, be careful when you're taking a shower...

Hehe, I experimented with a uni-brow too (it was hilarious), but went with the 'stache.  I though he was a cutie.  Although the baby was my favorite.  Smiley  I've had that fabric for a while - LOVED the pattern.  Though it would make a super cute monster.

Here's the AWESOME witch/vampire girly monster I got from Mamakitty78:

Her hair is too cute for words, and I'm really impressed by the stitching!  How did you do all
that in such a short period of time?  Check out her heart of gold!  Her name is Gwenivere.  Smiley  (I love the name.  The first bunny at the shelter I fell in love with was Gwenivere. Mamakitty, you have excellent taste!)

The card was too funny not to include.  I adore Anne Taintor, and this is the same style.  I laughed so hard when I read it.

7  Re: Pet Swap: Rodent Revolution 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Lrigrem on: July 10, 2011 11:12:12 AM
I received my package from bsonlytoots on Tuesday, killed my camera immediately after taking a million pics (ok, it only had like 11 minutes of battery life left), charged it, and work has been crazy.  So sorry for the delay in posting , but I'm just able to do it now.

Phoebe LOVED her package.  The second I sat on the floor she hopped right up to investigate.  She sniffed everything as I pulled it out (I had to immediately put the treats out of reach, as she started nibbling on the bag) and looked like she was having as much fun as I was!

I received:

A bunny-shaped cover to put over things, so Pheebs can knock them over.  Now, I can't remember if I ever mentioned that Pheebs in the morning used to have this routine where she would run up to my bf and knock over his coffee thermos & water bottle.  But she does.  And it's adorable & cracks us up.  So this is just too cute!

A bag with ties to hang from her cage, which she immediately hopped into when I held it up for her.

(And then she climbed out & hopped ONTO it)

I think she thinks it's a game to knock it down now - I have to clean her cage before putting it up, but when I tested it to see it if would hang from the 3rd story (where her cage has it's "loft" ceiling of 2 floors tall - half the bottom level is super tall), she kept knocking the bag down.  It was pretty cute.  Cheesy  Here's a pic of it laid out nicely:

TREATS!:  The sweet potato sticks I think might rival her old favorite, banana chips.  She LOVES THEM.  (You'll have to scroll to the whole loot photos below, I couldn't leave the bags out for individual pics, she was trying to make a clean get away with them & I wasn't having it.) She got papaya & the sweet potato treats.  And a second package, a box of hay (Timothy Plus mangoes!), which she attacked me over, came a few days ago.  (Bsonlytoots: You should see if you can get a refund, if they were sent at the same time - it came quite a few days later.  Pheebs probably enjoyed it more then - sensory overload the day I got the 1st package!!!)

And MY treat:  the cutest little framed paper Phoebe.  The glass can be written on with dry erase markers.  I brought this & the markers into work the next morning.  It's FANTASTIC.

IS THAT NOT ADORABLE OR WHAT?!?!?!  (Sorry for screaming, but everyone here already thinks I'm nuts because of this thing.  I've been showing it off at work like it's a new child or something.  I think people are surprised I haven't started cradling it yet...)  I think it's fairly obvious which was MY favorite.  Smiley

The whole shebang:

Phoebe approves!

(Especially of the treats...)

Sorry for photo overload, but it's hard not to share that much cute.  Smiley

8  Re: Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Part II GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by Lrigrem on: July 07, 2011 01:56:18 PM
Well, I meant to post these last night, but didn't get home from work until 11...  So here they are now!!!  Really, really amazing swap package from sdelnegro514!  I'm going to try to hold myself back just a tiny bit: I'm not posting every pic I have, and I'm trying to post a bunch of thumbnails to not overload anyone too much.  But it's really hard.  Too much cute stuff to show off.  Cheesy

The package itself:

Treats first!

Honeydukes Best Chocolate Shortbread: This is nearly gone.  I only have a photo of it wrapped, because it didn't stay home long.  Smiley  Yummy.

Chocolate Frogs: The drawing on the front is just adorable.  These I'm saving for the movie.

SUGAR MICE!  These are so damn adorable.  I brought a bag to work because I had to show them off (ok, I actually brought the entire swap package in today, but the mice have been tagging along with me the last 2 days...  Honestly.  They've been hiding out in my purse.).  Seriously adorable.  If you don't usually click on thumbnails, you should still click on the following two, they are really that cute.

My very own Pygmy Puff!!!  S/he's so cute!  I haven't decided on a name yet, but it's red, so I'm thinking something Weasley-worthy.  But I don't know.  Like someone else, I'll gladly take suggestions.  Smiley

Cutest Feet EVER:

Deathly Hallows Tissue Holders: Definitely going to come in handy.  I'd totally forget something like tissues, and now with these adorable little guys, there isn't a chance that'll happen!

Monster Book Of Monsters: So cute!  He's holding a notebook at the moment, but I kinda wish I had a smaller laptop, because this would totally become my new laptop sleeve.  I'll just have to find something else cute to use him for!

My Wearable:

Slytherin Scarf: Wow, is this gorgeous.  It's ok, you can be jealous.

I love how the ends were finished:
The tag:

Everything was just so great.  I feel totally spoiled.  And the tags were such a great touch.  From the puff to the scarf tags, and the hand drawn mice & frogs - too cute! I'm not sure what my favorite is (although I have to admit, I have not actually tried the scarf on yet - it looks so pretty all tied up, I kinda don't want to change that quite yet.  Although with the AC on, I'm starting to think I might change my mind by the end of the day...).  My favorite treat is easy - those sugar mice are the cutest things!  But my favorite over all?  I'm not sure - it's a 3-way tie between the Puff, the Monster Book of Monsters, and the scarf.  But wow.  I feel so lucky to have had sdelnegro514 as a partner.  She's really awesome!

Introducing: Turbo Bunny!

Here's my Phoebe (actual name is Phoebe, but she's more commonly called Bunny or Turbo, or some combination or mixture of those words).
She was helping me with the Keep Me Warm swap - it was my first swap, she knew I needed help.

10  Re: Labyrinth Swap Round 4 GALLERY!! in The Swap Gallery by Lrigrem on: April 17, 2011 02:07:14 PM
Prepare to be amazed (and your internet to DRAG from picture overload - sorry, but I couldn't control myself - and I even left a few pics unposted in my gallery!).  Seriously, I was so spoiled it's a bit unfair.  I'm sending my package late (tomorrow), but am a little glad that Friday didn't work out for sending, as I get to add a bit to my package now.  I would have felt woefully inadequate otherwise!!!

Anyone who gets Samantha_McKay for a swap partner, you better get your thinking cap on, because DAMN. IS. SHE. GOOD.

I came home yesterday (after a really good day at work! First perfect day of the season!), to a box & had to restrain myself from jumping in joy.  However, upon opening it, their was no restraining the squee's that likely hurt my bf's ears...  He'll deal.

First, the note:

The bracelets/rings: (I think I'm going to dismantle the charm bracelet I made myself and add the charms to the one with the glass beads - it's so pretty!)

The Peach: (OMG so cute!!!  This is definitely going to work to sit at my desk!)

A Book to recall the words (front cover, and first inside page)

And a little revenge for bad directions!!! It's a pencil topper!  (Ok, I admit, I only got the 'revenge' part after I laid everything out to take the whole loot pic.  Then I promptly cracked up laughing.  My bf thinks I'm insane.)

The shirt (mmmmm, yummy.):

Back (LOL!):

And, the absolutely most amazing thing.  A lunar clock.  I'm really awestruck.  It's amazing.  Not only is it a gorgeous clock, but the detail is great, and it keeps track of the moon!  So incredibly cool!  I can't decide where this is going.  I'm fairly certain it's going in my cube at work.  I kinda want people to try & read the time, just to realize it's a 13 hour clock...)  If I had a craft room, it'd be going there, but I'll have to wait until we actually get a house first!

Crappy (sorry for the blurry-ness, I took the pics as soon as I opened the box, and the light was crappy) detail pics:

The whole shebang:

See the lipstick!  And Worm on a stick!  Haha!!  So well thought out!

Go ahead guys, wipe your chins off.  I know you're drooling.  Wink

Miss Samantha_McKay, I love you.  I really hope you like your package, because, seriously, this was absolutely amazing.  You are genius, and a truly wonderful crafter.  Thank you SO MUCH.  You rock!
