41  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Xmas gift on: December 29, 2010 02:07:53 PM

Xmas present I made for my cousin.  I bought the wrong length zipper by mistake, it was a little short, but I made the zipper tabs a bit longer, it turned out ok. I was rushing to get this finished on Christmas eve, so it isnt perfect, but I am happy with how it came out. Out of the 3 clutches I made this one came out the best.

Here's the pattern http://www.noodle-head.com/2010/04/gathered-clutch-tutorial.html

I found the pattern through Craftster, I loved the ones that others posted here, and had to try making one. I am new to sewing, and this pattern was easy to follow, but I did have one problem with it, the lining fabric should be cut a little smaller than the pattern recommends. My first 2 clutches turned out really wrinkled on the inside, when I followed the pattern, so with this one I made the lining smaller, and it looked so much better. I also added an extra card holder to my clutches.
42  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Unicorn Stallion on: July 28, 2010 02:36:29 AM
Nougatgee asked to see the unicorn in my avatar, so here he is

He is sculpted from Super Sculpey, Super Sculpey Firm, and epoxy, over foil and wire. Painted with acrylic paint. His mane and beard are made from fox fur, and the hair on his hooves and tail, is Tibetan lamb wool. Hes about 8 in tall from hoof to the tip of  the horn. Modeled after an Arabian horse, his coat is fleabitten gray.

I dont keep track of how long it takes to finish a sculpture, but it takes weeks and many hours of work. Basically I just keep working on them, until I am somewhat satisfied with how they look.
43  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Goldfish Ornaments on: December 18, 2009 01:38:25 AM

My 2nd one. Its 2 3/4 in long. The fins aren't quite as yellow in person. I had planned on making it solid orange, but it had a few small dark specks imbedded in the clay, so I covered them with black paint  Undecided.

I keep it next to the fish tank, my goldfish seems to like it. I left it on my dresser after taking pictures of it and when I brought it back to put next to the tank my goldfish was really excited. Tongue

This is my fist one. Its 2 in long.  It kind of just happened, I didn't really know what to do with a piece of scrap wire and epoxy, but I covered it with some pearl clay and started sculpting. I was happily surprised when it turned out to be a portrait of my goldfish  Cheesy, though I am still a bit disappointed that the fins curled Sad. Its still not finished, I havent sculpted the eyes or the mouth yet.

44  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / My 3rd unicorn is finally finished =D _LOTS OF PICS!_ on: April 22, 2009 04:00:13 AM
I started him last year, he has been sitting on a shelf mostly untouched since then. I am so glad that I finally got him finished, so that I can concentrate on getting my other sculptures done. Cheesy

He is made out of a mix of super sculpey and super sculpey firm, his horn, tail, and ears are made out of a flexible polymer clay to help resist breakage. He is painted in acrylic paint, colored chalks, and sealed with a satin finish. His mane and tail are made from mohair. He is about 4 1/2 in tall, and 7 in long from horn tip to hoof. He is modeled after an Iberian horse. His coat is dapple gray with fleabites.

anyway I hope you like him. He is my favorite so far  Grin

LOL looks like he is asking himself "what the heck did I just stept in"  Shocked

45  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Unicorn mare on: January 04, 2009 09:39:29 AM
lol as soon as I uploaded pictures of my unicorn onto the computer my mom was emailing them to just about everyone she knew.  Roll Eyes My cousin's wife got the ones of it outside in the snow and showed them to one of her co-workers, and her co-worker asked "is it real?" Cheesy my mom and I have been giggling about that ever since. I am going to have to pack her up pretty soon and send her off to her new home. I am sure going to miss her watching over me, from the shelf above my desk. Cry

46  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / goldfish tank ornament on: January 04, 2009 09:02:00 AM
again I didn't enjoy throwing much so when we were assigned to make closed slab pots in ceramics class I had to make something fun.

my goldfish absolutely loved it. As soon as I put it in the tank she bombarded it with kisses Kiss

the glaze on the left eye totally ran and ruined the left side, and of corse that was the better looking side Sad, oh well at least the right side still looked ok Cool

it bubbles so my golfish loves it even more for that. Cheesy

47  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / hatchling on: January 04, 2009 08:12:55 AM
I made this a while ago, because I was curious how my bird, a female zebra finch would react if one of her eggs hatched (she dose not have a mate so her eggs are sterile), so I sculpted a life-sized hatchling and stuck it in her nest. It absolutely freaked her out Shocked, she nearly fell off of her perch when she first looked in her nest and saw it lol. Cheesy Then she stood on her perch looking in for the longest time refusing to go in until I took it out. Tongue

as soon as she looked down and saw what she was standing over she flew off Grin
48  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / my melted bottle beads on: January 04, 2009 07:52:41 AM
I had a lot of fun making these

I painted the outside of a clear plastic bottle with acrylic paint and etched little patterns into them with a bamboo skewer, then painted over the etched parts with another color.

I would have made them into bracelets by now, but I am not sure how tie stretchy plastic cords. Huh

I learned how to make them from this thread

I took a ceramics class a few years ago, I didn't like throwing much, but I had a lot of fun with sculpting.
