1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / A NEW batch of ATCs <3 (lots of pics) on: May 25, 2011 02:00:45 PM
I was so busy with my first two semesters of college classes that I kind of veered away from ATCs. Luckily, my family just went on vacation to an unschooling gathering and I hosted a "funshop" (a fun workshop Cool ) to make and trade ATCs. I had accumulated a whole pile of my own and by the end of the trip, they were all traded off or given away  Grin YAY!  Cheesy It was my first time trading and I love having art by other people to just look at whenever I want.

Here are some of my new ATCs I have made since getting home. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated, I am still a beginner  Wink

I am having trouble loading all of the pictures so I will try to post them later.

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Mirror Writing? on: February 23, 2010 09:05:06 PM
Hey Everyone! I hope this is an okay place to post this...

I've just started my art journal, and today I became obsessed with mirror writing...where you just write everything backwards so when you look at it in a mirror it comes out right. I was wondering if anyone else does this? It's so much fun Smiley

I don't use a mirror when writing, but does anyone do it that way?

(I don't know why the image uploader is hating on my picture so much...it looks way better in my "pictures" folder...)

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Glue for my art journal? on: February 15, 2010 08:10:54 PM
I am planning on starting a "legit" art journal and I need to get my supplies tomorrow. I have used mod podge on other projects and in other art journals but I find that during the summertime, the mod podge gets tacky and the pages stick together and ruin what I had previously collaged  Undecided . I am looking for a glue I can collage with and put a finishing coat on the page that will not stick after it is dry.

  Thank you!

4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / My first ATCs! {Edited} on: November 05, 2009 06:41:00 PM
So, I originally had my first ATCs here, but I made a ton more. My camera died while photographing, so there are still a few I haven't included, but I will ASAP.

Here they are!

Top to bottom: Fahrenheit 451 quote and Music quote (I used my new favorite gel pen on it)

Top left: heart cut-out from a french dictionary, Top Right: Make Love Not War/Create Don't Destruct, Bottom Left: Just a quick drawing of a girl, Bottom Right: An awesome see-through transfer from a newspaper Smiley

Left to right: watercolor alien planet?, just leave

Top to bottom: He'll wait for her as long as it takes (the little boy looks happy, but he looks like he is waiting for someone. All little kids promise to marry someone, haha), Genesis

Left to right: my personal favorite (the colors make me happy. I "aged" the background by rubbing ink on with my finger), and an Edgar Allan Poe quote (I adore Poe).

Left to right: just a pattern with buttons, Coraline quote

left to right: just a picture with paint added, quote I came up with

I hope you like them. Any suggestions or hints? Thanks Smiley
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Resin Bottle Caps on: October 15, 2009 09:52:17 PM
Well, I was trying to make resin bottle cap necklaces... it was my first time working with resin, so I made the mistake of going to Michaels and asking where the resin was. I should have asked for a second opinion Grin The woman had no idea about resin, but she took me to the floral department. I found "quick water" which says it's epoxy resin...so maybe it was the right thing. I'm not sure, but it didn't come out very well at all. It was most likely my fault, but all of the bottle caps were SO sticky when they were done. They were hard, but sticky. I covered them all in clear nail polish. Will improper mixing cause that?

Anywho, here are some of the bottle caps.

Thanks for looking Smiley Comments and kind critiques are always welcome!
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Poetry Clutch on: March 11, 2009 07:50:28 AM
A clutch purse I made from a tut that I cannot currently find...

It's just a piece of paper, decorated (with Mod Podge & some of my fav poems), slipped into a clear paper protector, sewn, with a button.

I'm making a Starburst one, and maybe a shoes one too Cheesy

My first time ever using my sewing machine, please excuse bad lines XD

7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Sock Bunny Head (Finished) on: March 11, 2009 07:01:37 AM
I made this sock bunny head using cute_anarchy's tutorial here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=98793.0

I changed quite a few things, and I like how it turned out.

He's not completely done, I still need to sew a mouth and maybe add more stuffing if I can...

Only my second time using our sewing machine (ever!  Shocked). Hope you like!

I stuffed him a bit more, added a cute little nose and sewed up his back. The stuffing I used is recycled dryer sheets... I had SO many laying around, so I cut them into strips and stuffed them in so that he still looks like he has normal stuffing. He's now happily in his new home, and doesn't long for a body anymore (who needs a body when you have love??  Grin)

Thanks for looking!
