1  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: pickles on: May 18, 2012 03:28:58 PM
I love pickles so much! I really need to make these, but the tiny cucumbers are really hard to find - might have to grow them!
2  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Vegan Raw Brownies - Sooo good!! on: May 18, 2012 03:27:04 PM
These look ace. Actually, I was wondering - is there something special about dates over other dried fruit? I'll defo try it with the dates, but a lot of recipes have dates in - are they better at being sweet and chewy then raisins or anything?
3  COOKING / Dessert / Candy melts alternative? on: November 26, 2011 09:24:18 AM
Oh clever craftsters, does anyone know of an alternative to candy melts for making things like cupcake pops? Here in the UK they can be quite hard to find and also expensive. Has anyone used something else that works? I have heard that colouring white chocolate doesn't work as it doesn't dry hard enough to keep the pops on the stick - is that right? Any tips gratefully received!

Awesome! So much better than the original! I don't know if anyone's posted this already (I'm too much of a lazy a$$ to look through!) but it reminds me of the Alice in Wonderland dress that the mad hatter makes for her - the red and black one. So cool Cheesy

8  COOKING / Dessert / Oh no! Not another Portal cake! on: May 29, 2010 07:39:56 AM
I made this for a friend's birthday, who likes the game Portal. It's a bit squat but hopefully you can probably tell what it's supposed to be.  Smiley

It's just a home-made sponge cake base, with chocolate butter cream and chocolate sprinkles. The decoration is piped white icing (just icing sugar and water) and the red things are Skittles, because glace cherries, while they probably would have looked better, are ick!  Grin

Comments/constructive criticism appreciated
Thanks for looking  Kiss

Tvorog you can buy in most Eastern European shops, it's called varske in Lithuanian, I'm not sure about other languages, but as far as I know it's just like curd cheese. You can buy it in the UK under the name Quark too if that's any help! They look super yummy, curd cheese is amazing! I'll have to make some now - as soon as I can find cherries!

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: crochains? snowchet? on: January 07, 2010 04:09:01 AM
Awesome! Have you tried them out yet? I want to know if they work! We're not supposed to be having a snowday at the library where I work but it was totally impossible for me to get in (it's 35 miles away and no busses). Great idea!
