1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Amazeballs on: July 04, 2012 03:12:19 AM
Just thought I'd swing by and share a little piece I stitched up for a colleague that pretty much sums up what I think of cross stitch. Hope you like it!

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Obey! on: April 11, 2011 04:13:46 AM
*tap tap*
Is this thing on?

Hi Folks,
It's been a very long time since I posted anything on here - a year and a day to be specific! However I thought I'd share a couple of new pieces with you:

Bad Ass:
I found a tray liner in a charity shop that was on sale for 1. I couldn't bear to leave it there, so I bought it and then injected it with a bit of bad ass attitude! My first time using water-soluble stabiliser as well, it was quite the success!

I've been stitching this on and off for ages, but I finally finished it. Based on one of Shepard Fairey's Obey icons, this is tent stitch in 24ct fabric (I think). I'm fairly happy with the end result...
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Tattoo Wisdom on: April 10, 2010 12:52:50 PM
Hi everyone!
Crikey it's been a long time since I was on here. While I have been stitching, because I'm a bit of a bonehead, I keep forgetting to take pictures of the pieces before I send them to other people...  Roll Eyes

But today I remembered! But I've only got one picture. Hey ho.
I decided to stitch this for a new tattoo parlour that opened near me. It's a bit of wisdom I found in another parlour, and I got my good buddy Beefranck to help me concoct a pattern based on the phrase. I had a little help with the stitching as part of it was done by Alien Ted who came to visit, but all in all I'm quite happy with it.

I hope to get a picture of it in situ sometime soon and will post it here as well.
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Graffiti Cross Stitch finished at last! on: December 02, 2009 03:15:57 AM
This piece is the first graffiti cross stitch pattern I ever made and is the thing that started me on the path towards becoming Mr X Stitch.

It's called Panika, it's 12 inches wide by 6 inches high and has 39 colours in it.

It has 14112 stitches in total and took me much longer than it really should have. But that's the whole thing about WIPs, isn't it?

I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out, although in retrospect I might have stitched it using three threads rather than two to make the colours pop out against the black background a bit more.

But there ya go - the original Mr X Stitch graffiti cross stitch has finally been finished. Rejoice!  Grin
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Bill Hicks - NSFW - Mature Readers only, okay?! on: November 09, 2009 02:26:32 PM
I stitched this little number as part of a NSFW swap over at the Phat Quarter Flickr group.
It's a rather rude line from Bill Hicks with an image of the legend himself.
All done with variegated threads, it took quite a while to get it right, but I'm pretty pleased with the end result.

But before we get there, it's Mr Slow Loris, checking that you're old enough to look at naughty words..?

And now to the business:
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Spam Stitch 004 on: November 09, 2009 02:18:58 PM
Hi Folks,
It's been ages since I posted something on here, but I'm still keeping my stitching up. So here's a little something that I did as part of my Spam Stitch Series.
It's not really that rude. Honest.

Sparkly aida. Variegated threads. Five inch hoop.
It's how I roll.  Cool
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / A couple of stitcheries for your perusal on: August 14, 2009 12:30:48 PM
Hi Peoples,
It's been a while since I posted a pic on here, so here's two little things I've managed to produce of late.
Sorry for the crap picture quality.

First of all FestEvil, a little poem stitch that I wrote while on a less-than-amazing holiday at a festival.

Second up, Imperius Rex, stitched as a christening gift for Rex, the son of some close friends. Used annoying gold light effects thread for the crown.

And finally a work in progress, just got to finish the back stitching on it:

Kthxbai!  Grin
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Rock Out With Your [censored] Out version 2 on: June 23, 2009 02:29:42 PM
Hi Peoples!

Sorry I've not been around much lately, but y'know I've got this blog thang that's keeping me pretty busy.
Anyway, once upon a time I stitched this piece, with the phrase Rock Out With Your Cock Out on it.

That piece was okay, but when I got the chance to do a swap with an awesome artist called MimiLoveForever and she made me this, which was amazing! So I revisited my favourite phrase...

I found a high count evenweave and chose a tidy tent stitch. The effect is meant to be a bit like a Wedgwood plate, and there's a hidden surprise inside the Cockerel, in the form of a glow in the dark X.

I hope you like it. Smiley
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Jebus Saves on: May 19, 2009 01:45:45 AM
Did a little swap with a very talented stitcher called Stitch Out Loud.

I'd had this idea bouncing in my head for a while, and I was pleased with the way it came out.
It's variegated yellows and browns and there's a bit of shiny stuff in there as well.

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Gift for my sister on: May 19, 2009 01:31:00 AM
It's my sister's 14th birthday soon, and traditionally I totally forget about it.
Not this year!

She's a black belt martial artist, so it didn't take long for me to choose what to do for her.

It has normal threads, shiny threads and the whitework is all done in glow in the dark. I hope she likes it!
