1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Boxer costume on: February 26, 2012 05:16:28 AM
So, in my country it is traditional to dress up for a holiday called Pust which is at the same time as the Carnival in Venice. That means some time in February or March. This year I decided to throw a party and dress up as a boxer.
I went for a bit of a clownish look.
The costume was really simple. I had the boxing gloves already and only needed a few more things. So I went to the thrift store and found the perfect black satin harem pants and a white satin dressing gown/bathrobe. Then I added a striped red and white tee.
I painted my face with white grease paint and then played with lipstick and black eyeshadow. I think it turned out great.

Thanks for looking! Comments much appreciated!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Macbook sleeve on: November 27, 2011 05:23:04 AM
I bought a new computer and started searching for a sleeve. I didn't like what they had in the store and looked around a bit. After figuring out what I want I made a sketch, measured my laptop, rummaged around my mothers scrap fabric box and came up with this:

I used an old camping mat so it is really soft. At first I had to really force my laptop inside, but now a day later it is already much easier. So I guess it just needs to stretch a tiny bit.
Comments much appreciated!

P.S.: the sleeve found a new use! I mean my cat found a new use for it Smiley But I still need it! I guess she wants a pillow.
3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Poison Ivy! on: April 11, 2011 07:58:40 AM
This year for Pust (which is like halloween, but in spring). I think it could be Mardi Gras...  Anyway I went as Poison Ivy, because I too am an eco-terrorist Smiley It was really easy I only had to buy a new wig. I had green tights, black legwarmers, black underpants(yay for superheroes and their silly habits!) and a corsage. I just sewed ivy on everything. That was not a very good idea, because I withered and had to fix everything for the second party (I went out on saturday and then tuesday). But it was extremly eco friendly. I just composted the branches when it was over Smiley
It isn't a movie version and not an exact comic book version.
Not everybody knew who I was though. And because of my height (or the emount of makeup? and the wig?) people actually asked me if I was a guy or a girl. How rude!
Anyway, to the pics!

this is the afterparty photo, the wig as you can see is already messed up. And because my black turtleneck was in a bad state I had to wear a red one. And it doesn't look quite as nice T_T Please excuse the silly faces I make.

Here you can see what the wig was like before I ruined it. And the black turtleneck. But I guess I do look a bit like a drag queen.
I am sorry for not taking closeup photos of the ivy. It looked really good.

Thanks for looking!
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / DeathNote mobile on: September 04, 2010 02:30:24 AM
I made this for a friend who is a Death note fan. She especially likes Mello and Matt. So here are the pics Smiley
I drew them on cardboard and cut them out.

The whole thing

Matt ( with his video game and cigarette)

Mello (with chocolate of course!):

She liked it very much Smiley

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Painted chairs - picture heavy on: September 03, 2010 07:21:32 AM
Hi! I don't know if this is the right place to post my chairs, but that doesn't really matter. I can change it later if I have to. So, I bought these in Ikea and had fun with them. Anyway here are the pictures:

The colors are wrong and you can't see the details (and there is a lot of them!), but it is hard to take a good picture in a hurry. Smiley
Comments are welcome!
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Present for a VW Beetle obsessed brother on: April 24, 2010 02:30:05 AM
I bought a simple T-shirt and painted a VW beetle on it Smiley Now I just have to wait for it to dry and iron it.
I think he will like it.

7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Day of the dead painting on: April 22, 2010 07:54:14 AM
Just something I made today Smiley
8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Well, the professor said we can do whaterver we want, so I did! on: April 16, 2010 06:31:13 AM
I study painting at the Academy of fine arts. Currently I am in the second year and we had a free assignment. Meaning we could do whatever we wanted (paint after a photograph, abstract, we still had a model we could use ...) Since I really like comic books and a lot happened to me lately I decided to make an autobiographical comic book painting. Meaning that I am the only one who fully understands the story. Well if I explain it to other people they get it too.
But because I painted it really fast I still had time before my colleagues would finish I made a second painting. Which I think is even better than the first one.

Anyway here they are:
painting #1 (its called Spring)

and #2 (its called Spring 2.)

Sadly the photos are crappy because I used my mobile phone and the light just isn't right. I will take photos of details and add them later.
They are both quite large (180x130cm) and acrylics on paper.

If any of you have ideas about the story share it with me Smiley Maybe I will even write an essay and tell my version of the story in it.

9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Amazon headress on: January 09, 2010 06:17:28 AM
In my country we don't dress up for Halloween but for Pust Smiley which is in February. This year I want to be an Amazon and I really like the "masks" I saw in a very old Xena episode. I would like to ask if you have any ideas how to make it so I can wear it as a mask but it stays on my head even if I put it on top of my head (I know it doesn't make sense thats why I added pictures).
Like this:

Any ideas? Thank you very much  Grin
10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Dean Winchester / Jensen Ackles T-shirt (first stencil ever) on: September 11, 2009 05:52:21 AM
My first stencil!
I found a photo I liked then I changed it in photoshop and cut it out of a transparent plastic wrap (for books) with an olfa knife.
I had to impovise around the eyes because I couldnt cut out all the details.
But I kind of like how it turned out. I just hope he doesn't get too deformed when I put it on  Grin because it is a tight-fitting T-shirt.
This is it!

a close up:

I hope you like it Smiley
