11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Carrying yarn for color changeover? Please help! on: November 19, 2008 02:09:37 AM
I want to make this hat:
http://hookingalong.blogspot.com/2006/11/checkerboard-hat.html

But I'm not too sure how to "carry behind" opposing colors when it comes to switching them.  Can anyone explain this one to me, or maybe know of a tute that further explains this technique?

Thanks so much!  Grin

I know it's a weird thing to say but OMG I SEE WOOD HURRAY.

I so hate to see beautiful pieces like this covered in paint.  The wood is gorgeous.
Congratulations on getting down to it and making it fab once more.

Yeah, same here.  I see alot of that and don't say anything. I love period appropriate restorations.  To each their own, I guess.

Isn't it amazing when people find out you make stuff that they expect you to make them something for nothing?  Roll Eyes  I'd definitely put a price on that set, they are absolutely adorable!

May I ask what stitch that is?  I really love it!

Very cool!   Grin
Wonder how well this pattern would do in plarn?

I don't know ... but I have made it with three strands of worsted held together and added rounds to make a nice thick rug  Smiley  So I would think plarn would work well .. post a pic if you decide to try it

I will!  Grin
I have a couple big balls of blue drycleaning bags I shredded up into plarn, and had no idea what I'd use them for.  I'll be sure an post a pic when I'm done!  Grin
