2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / HELP ASAP - Metal Kitchen Cabinets on: September 13, 2006 01:45:56 PM
There is an old set of metal kitchen cabinets in my grandmothers home in which were painted with white epoxy about a year ago. Yesterday my grandma decided she wanted the cabinets blue to better match her kitchen decor and new tile she just put down so she bought blue spray paint and tried to spray paint over the epoxy. Well the paint bubbled and looked like a mess so myself and another one of her granddaughters tried to scrape the blue off and go back over it with white so it wouldnt look so bad. the problems is that we cant get all the blue off. Anyone have any suggestions on what can be done to get these cabinets back white and not looking so cobbled and messy??

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Reconstruction Heaven on: October 28, 2005 12:26:19 PM
Today I had to go to my little girls Halloween party at school and while there the school was having a free clothing giveaway. Only about 5 people showed up for it and what was left over was going to be thrown away so I asked if I could take it all. I now have a car full of clothes just waiting to get all jazzed up. And I have to admit there are some really nice pieces in with all these. And my favorite piece...a corset...I now have one to look at to help me make my very own. WOOHOO!!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / A January Birthday on: October 27, 2005 06:11:54 PM
My youngest daughter will be turning 2 on January 30th. It's hard for me to plan a party this time of year because of the cold weather and snow. My other daughter was born in May and I can always think of great ideas for her parties, but I feel like the baby gets neglected on her birthday because of the weather conditions. Any great ideas for a party in January for a 2 year old?
6  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Treat Bag Dilemma - Now Solved on: October 27, 2005 01:52:08 PM
Well, tomorrow is my lil girls classroom party for Halloween, so I went to every store in town today looking for treat bags. There were none to be found, ANYWHERE! Not even the Halloween Ziplock bags. Sooooo, heres what I did. I took plain old cheapy sandwich bags and a black bat shaped cookie cutter I picked up at Wal-mart and traced the image on the sandwich bag with a black permanent marker and then I colored it all in. I baked chocolate cut out cookies using the same cookie cutter shape and frosted them all with chocolate cake frosting. Dropped a cookie in the baggie when the frosting had hardened from sitting out on the counter for a few hours, dropped in some gummie bears, sweet-tarts, suckers and carmel filled chocloate kisses. Then took envelopes, sealed them closed, cut the end off to make a little paper bag and dropped in a handful of seasoned pumpkin seeds. Then decorated the envelopes with stickers and dropped those down in the sandwich bags. Viola! My treat bags are finished and stocked full of goodies for the kiddies tomorrow. I only wish I had a camera to show pictures.

9  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween School Party on: October 20, 2005 12:16:53 PM
My 3 year old daughter is in her first year of pre-school and her school party is coming up soon. The school is very picky on what you send with your child to the party. They dont want u to send chocolate or stuff thats to hard to eat so I decided to make some type of party favor instead of just sending candy. Any ideas of something I could make for kids that are 3-4 years old? Her class has about 20 kids in it.

A while back I took it upon myself to fix up a little rickety table i found in my closet. Things started out wonderful. Used my wood glue to reglue the legs and make them un wobbly again. Stared at it a few minutes and decided, why not paint it white and add it to my 2 lil girls room to match their furniture. Got out the white paint and slapped a few coats on. Let it dry. Beautiful. Sat it in the room for a few days and then decided. OH I should paint their names and some cute lil pictures on it! It would make the cutest night stand! Got out my paint and worked maticulesly(sp?) on drawing their names out in calligraphy. Addes some butterflies and hearts in pretty pinks and purples. Left it to dry and went to answer the door as someone was knocking. Walked back in to show my company my new project and what did I find.....my 3 year old standing there with a black Sharpie!
