1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Are you cold? Do you have 35 old T shirts? Then you're in luck! on: April 05, 2010 09:32:19 AM
looks awesome! I've always wanted to make one of these. did you have to quilt it together or anything? I love the idea of the feel of it with soft cotton tshirts on one side, soft fleece on the other
I'm in the process of making a tutorial, because the only good one I could find was in a book I bought, and it was the only project I knew I would use. :S
Edit:  actually, I stumbled upon a tut (on craftster, no less!) and it's very similar to how I did mine!

Good tut here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=123427.0
I was cold.
I had a giant pile of old T shirts.
Naturally, I made a blanket out of them.
It's a 5x7 patchwork of 35 t shirts, sewn onto a layer of fleece to make a completed blanket. I have a t shirt from my boyfriend, my mom, and my sister included as well. Smiley

You can see that some of the rows ended up uneven. It's really hard to get them lined up, especially for a novice like me.

The backside, and my rape face. I'm absolutely in love with this owl fleece. I got it at JoAnne's.

It's just barely big enough to cover my bed, and it is very heavy and warm. Smiley
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Liebesbrief [IMAGE OBESE] on: January 29, 2009 03:10:18 PM
My boyfriend recently got back from a four-month trip to Germany as an exchange student. While he was preparing for the trip, I threw together a going away present to keep him from getting too lonely.
I constructed the structure of the main book (black, green on inside with pockets) while on a school trip to the MCBA  in the twin cities. Then I tore it apart and decorated it and filled it with letters, drawings, smaller books, and stuffed it in a box with a small jar of poofy origami stars in the colors of the german flag. I titled it Liebesbrief because the whole project felt like just one big love letter to me.
And now, the terrifying obesity.

He enjoyed it a lot. :3 I hope you did too
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Good Luck Star-Along? on: December 30, 2008 11:26:40 AM
I've made at least 2000 of those last winter/spring. D: Sorry, but I'm stepping back from the poofy stars for a while. My nails are still growing back!
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Decorating a Room: Craftalong! on: December 30, 2008 11:24:09 AM
I won't be doing anything major with wall color and whatnot, but I am doing some major rearranging and cleaning out. I want my room to have a more mellow feel to it. I like bright colors, but maybe rainbow stripes was a bit much. ;P
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Longcat is LOOOOOONG (image obese) on: December 26, 2008 12:19:00 PM

This is freaking awesome. Like I have no better words to describe the awesomeness of this creation. How much fabric did you use to make this? And how much stuffing??? I bet it was tons. Shocked You should make Tacgnol next and make them fight the most epic battle ever.  Grin
I used about 3 yds of fabric and a jumbo bag of quilting batting folded over a few times.
I was actually going to make Tacgnol and give him a choice, but ran out of time. :3 Maybe next year.

Thanks for the comments, guys! Cheesy
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Longcat is LOOOOOONG (image obese) on: December 25, 2008 11:12:54 AM
Merry Xmas! :3
For my boyfriend, I decided to celebrate our love for longcat (and eachother, of course), by making a longcat plushie. It was one of my first major sewing projects in a loooong time. His reaction was priceless!
Everyone was in on it, except him, of course.
I'm not sure if it's even possible for me to make a tutorial for this, so...you might not want to ask. I was pretty much flying by the seat of my pants the whole time.
I have a video of him pulling longcat out of the boxes, and will convert it to GIF and post it later on.

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: 2008 - How'd they like the gifts? on: December 25, 2008 10:56:33 AM
I made my boyfriend a Longcat plushy that was about 9ft long. I set up a ton of boxes with holes in them so he'd just keep pulling...pulling...pulling.. and more cat would come out. We both love longcat, and he was speechless!
I'm going to post it in the forum soon.  There will be pics. Smiley
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: ~Swirly ~Twisted Paperclip bracelet :P on: December 06, 2008 07:35:27 PM
Very nice! Does it poke or scrape at all?
I'm always afraid to make things out of paper clips for just that reason.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Longcat Scarf: Beginning knitter on: September 14, 2008 11:15:59 AM
Thanks! I think I may try that. It's a good thing I'm planning so much ahead of time.. I have a feeling that I'm going to be taking a long time with this one. xD
