1  Re: Embroidery Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by smacckk on: April 16, 2009 07:47:38 AM
I got my box from RondaS yesterday! Here are some crappy cell phone pictures until RondaS can get some better ones posted Grin

First up are my AWESOME ORCA EARRINGS!!! Definitely one of a kind! Grin

She also embroidered a picture(?) of my dog! I'll probably frame this one up.

Here's the picture she followed

I also requested a pincushion (because I am far too lazy to make my own heehee) So she made and embroidered one for me! It even has a magnet at the bottom so I can use it to pick my pins/needles (how much lazier can I get? LOL)

It has pretty flowers on one side .. And a cat and a mouse on the other. I really admire your lazy daisy stitches! I haven't had the guts to try that stitch yet.. But it looks so pretty I may have to try 'em soon!

She also sent me a whole lotta extras! But I just realized that I forgot to take pictures of the ballpoint needles I asked for Roll Eyes But you can always google them if you want to Grin Grin  I took pictures of all the fabric though! I'm using small clickable pictures so it doesn't take so long to load Wink She even sent cute doggy fabric!!!!!!!!!!

As if all that weren't enough, RondaS even included a small rotary cutter + mat and an incredible pair of scissors because I mentioned that my pair hurt my hands. Isn't she the best!? Oh, and the rotary cutter can cut wavy lines!! Shocked I never knew such a thing existed! Can't wait to try it out!

And a last picture just for fun ..

Fabric, pincushion, scissors, more fabric .. LOL!!

Thank you so so much RondaS! I have no idea what you were worried about!  Roll Eyes Everything is perfect! I hope the stuff I sent you is enough though Undecided And I hope it gets to you soon too!

Ooops. Sorry for double posting but I forgot to add the scan of the postcard I sent to whisp3rd's cousin!

The colors are much more vibrant in real life. I don't know why my scanner blurred out everything  Undecided

WOOHOO! I made one of those embroidery travel organizers today!

Oooh, what's that? Is it another journal cover?

No way! This isn't a boring old journal cover (no offense to people who like journal covers - oh wait, that's me!  Grin) .. this is an EMBROIDERY TRAVEL ORGANIZER!!!

[flap closed]

[flap open]

and a close-up of the pockets

There's a loop for the hoop which closes with a snap .. Pockets for a small pair of scissors, a pencil, a seam ripper and scraps of floss .. A piece of (insert name of fabric here - I admit that I do not know the name of this fabric so stop laughing!) for needles and pins .. And last but not least two loops for embroidery floss! It'll only work with the plastic bobbins though because the cardboard ones can't fit  Sad Now I must search the craft store for more plastic bobbins - these were given to me by southernflower in the DIY Kit Swap!

So ... waddya think? Should I give it it's own thread?  Cheesy

5  Cards and an envelope by my sister (4 pics) in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by smacckk on: February 19, 2009 09:15:35 PM
My sister is quite into paper crafts but she will never upload her creations herself so I decided to upload some for her Grin There are lots more but I could only find pictures of these from her folder

This is an envelope she decorated to put a card she made for her friend who left for Australia to continue her studies Smiley

This is the card that was inside! The "puzzle pieces" are for her other friends to write their messages. There was a removable plastic backing thinghy behind to put a photo.

This is a thank you card she made for another friend.

Thanks for looking!! Comments and criticism will be appreciated Smiley

6  What should I make with this fabric? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by smacckk on: January 30, 2009 05:10:06 AM
I bought 2 meters of some gorgeous cotton sateen a while ago and I had so many ideas for it but none of them seemed right Sad

So I'm here to ask all you wonderful craftsters for some help! Please give me some suggestions as to what to use this gorgeous fabric for! Please forgive the quality of the photos. I used my phone camera Smiley

I have 1 meter of the navy blue which I thought would go quite well with the patterned fabric Smiley

I'll try to upload better photos if I can get 'em

7  Re: OTT 20 Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by smacckk on: January 29, 2009 08:28:29 AM
I received from phoenixfiredesigns today. Nothing from her could ever be bad! Cheesy I was going to upload the picture of the packaging (It had bubble wrap! I love bubble wrap!  Grin) but I realized it had my full address on it and I am too lazy to edit it Grin She sent me the most awesome bookmark ever (from my Wists and with my fave colors!)

Oh, forgive the bad quality photos the only camera working is the phone camera Sad Feel free to upload better photos phoenixfiredesigns!

Here's the bookmark!

And here it is again with my (borrowed) New Moon book!

They are Swarovski  crystals in orange/red/yellow because those are my favorite at the moment! Cheesy I can't catch how sparkly they are in the photos but hopefully phoenixfiredesigns will have better ones Smiley

And she didn't stop there! She sent extras!! Which makes me feel bad because I didn't Embarrassed But I will be! When I have enough cash to pay postage Cheesy

She wrote the nicest note ever on the other side of the Twilight card! It's going up on the board above my desk! Grin And she sent a packet of green tea and chocolates!!

I can't thank you enough Miss M!!! I hope your OTT arrives soon!

I managed to get some action shots of the jewelry RondaS sent me! But they aren't very good because they were taken at night - with not very good lighting - which is the only time they are free Cheesy This must be the worst quality pictures ever Tongue I miss my camera Sad

Here's one of my mum looking like a child on Christmas morning! Grin She'd kill me if she knew I posted this Tongue

Here's one with the matching bracelet

And one of my sister's earrings! She wouldn't let me show her face Roll Eyes

The TEN YARDS of amazing yellow fabric with gray flowers!

Ignore the purple-ish pink-ish bits at the background that's my bed sheet Tongue And the photo doesn't really show the color Embarrassed BUT look how nicely it flows!!

Thank you again Ronda!! Kiss

9  My Red Prom Dress aka The Faviana Prom Dress Wannabe in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by smacckk on: December 23, 2008 07:07:01 AM
Having only sewn ONE article of clothing before this, I had this incredibly "smart" idea to sew my prom dress (mistake number 1)! Instead of going safe with a basic tube dress or shift dress, I also decided to make my dress look like the one here http://www.edressmeprom.com/prom6216.html# (mistake number 2). Except I changed all the curves to angles Grin

So after a whole ton of sweat and late nights (I started a little more than a week before - with NO pattern) and help from my mum - she helped me hem the skirt and sew on the hooks and eyes (because I don't know where to get invisible zippers and even if I did I don't own an invisible zipper foot) because I got lazy Tongue - here's my dress!

Oh, and I only have these not very good photos because the camera died on me!!!!

Okay, I admit that's not the best picture of the front but the other pictures make me look fat Tongue
Here's a closer look at the top (with my really really pretty friend Cheesy)

Leave your comment (good or bad!) Cheesy

Here's my embroidery kit from southern flower! I practically snatched it from the postman Grin I took lots of photos so bear with me! Cheesy

Here is the box! I've never received a box before! Can you tell how excited I am?! Grin

I tore at the box for 5 minutes because I couldn't figure out where the opening was! It was completely covered with tape! When I finally opened it, I saw an EMBROIDERY BOOK! (Let's all pretend this picture isn't blur!:P)

She sent sent me TONS of embroidery floss! She must have bought the whole store!

There was also a box to keep all my new floss organized, a pair of embroidery scissors, needles and lots of floss bobbins!

That's not all! At the bottom I found embroidery hoops, pin up girl patterns (thank you thank you thank you!) and A PILLOW EMBROIDERY KIT! Shocked There's also some cloth which somehow didn't get into this picture but it's in the last picture of this post!

Last but definitely not least, she sent me THREE DRESS PATTERNS!! She knew I wanted some and offered to send a few! (We shall all pretend this picture isn't blur either)

Here's everything together now!

Thank you so so much southern flower! I love everything and I can't wait to get started! This has really been a great experience and I'll definitely be joining more swaps after this!

PS. Sorry for posting so many pictures but I just HAD to show everything! I also think I've worn out my laptops exclamation mark with this post Cheesy
