1  Gustave Courbet in Stenciling: Completed Projects by bottleandpen on: February 06, 2009 12:35:20 PM
My best friend loves Gustave Courbet, and this is her favorite painting by him:

I looked everywhere for a print of it with no prevail.  I finally got so fed up, I decided I would just make a stencil of it for her.  After I made the outline in Photoshop, I thought I was in over my head:

Patience and steady hands were the key.  After laying down the paint and removing the stencil from the canvas, I was overjoyed:

It sucked waiting for a month to giver her this gift.  She loved it.

2  Belated Jack-o-Lantern in Halloween Decor and Parties by bottleandpen on: February 06, 2009 12:26:49 PM
My favorite band is The Matches, and this is their logo:

And this was my pumpkin:

It was a fun little project, took me an hour and a half to do, but totally worth it.

3  Product of paper cut skin... in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by bottleandpen on: September 30, 2008 08:47:30 PM
I've been hand making mix CD cases for a while.  Just a basic little square case with a track listing.  I decided I wanted to start doing something a little more special.  This is my first project:

From the cover, each page has a line from each track.  The last page is where the CD is.  And the back cover is where the actual track list is.  Most of the pictures came from Smithsonian Magazine as well as History Channel Magazine.  I was a little strapped for cash, so it was assembled with Elmer's school glue and painters tape.  The bottom stitching got ripped during assembling, but you learn from mistakes.  Beside having to work in those confines, I'm very proud.  Just wish I could see the look on the lucky friends face who receives this in the mail.  Smiley

I have 12 tattoos in total, I will only post a handful for now:

Words I live by:

My favorite of them all:

More words I live by (notice anything missing?):

And lastly, my prize tattoo:

There was no alcohol or drugs involved in getting the unicorn.  I got that one for me.

5  Cassette tape & ashtray stained glass. in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by bottleandpen on: September 26, 2008 03:19:47 PM
Wasting time in small town Arizona, took some art glasses.  One of which being stained glass.  This was my first piece (tiny amount of sand blasting):

Last class, I made an ashtray in 2 hours:

Currently working on a hummingbird piece for my mother.  First time using an electric cutter, my hands bare the evidence of being a first time user.
