You should just go buy the same fabric again from joann's and use those receipts to enter.....

WOW! this is amazing you did a wonderful job!!
I took a corset making class awhile ago, and they told me that in order to avoid the wrinkles on the silk, you lay the corset pannels on a rounded surface and stitch the silk to the coutil pieces before sewing them together.... not sure if this helps, but it was a good tip!!

Thanks for all the awesome comments!!!
to answer a few questions/comments....
"how well do they look under stuff? "

they have lots of seams and the elastic is
bunchy when its laying flat, but it does stretch
out when you are wearing it. so it may show
under some clothes (like tight sheer dresses)
but under jeans? no problem!

re: fitted elastic "you're supposed to"...
you dont even really NEED to use elastic on the
leg holes, if you dont like your panties to be
tight, you can just fold the edges under and
zigzag stitch them!! might take a few trys to
get the right size, but its just scraps so who
cares if you mess up... persistance!!

thanks for the necklace comment (i like it too!)

How do they look on someone? fabulous!! ahha
I dont have pictures of my butt right now, but
I can post some later!!

I used an old pair of panties, seam ripped the elastic off and the seams, and traced it on non fusible interfacing. Add about an inch on each side to account for folding the edges over and stitching them..voila!

"when you stitch the elastic on do you stretch it while you sew it?
and also, did you make it the size of your hips and inner thigh(or watevs) or a bit smaller/bigger?"

You can make the panties a little big, as long as the elastic is the right lenght for you then It all works out, depending on how bunched you want it.

I stretch it just a bit when I sew it, with practice you will start to do it more evenly. What you should do is measure your waist, and then subtract 2 - 3 inches. Sew the elastic into a circle and pin it to the panties, first front and back evenly, and then the sides. this gets a little tricky because you need to stretch while you pin, and then stretch while you sew.

Same for the thigh holes!!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Another Wow Hoodie on: February 23, 2009 08:06:05 AM
I made this for the MMORPG craft swap, but I wanted to add pictures here too, because I saw another girl made a guild hoodie (and did a really good job too)

I made this pattern from scratch, and appliqued the back. It has a scuba hoodie with a zipper, and the front pocket is extra big so I could have the whole battle scene!!

Cheers and thanks again!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / New Panties!!! on: February 23, 2009 07:58:26 AM
Hey, these are some panties I made this weekend, and a matching top

My buddy was complaining about how she was looking for panties and la senza, and how they would appear to be nice, but you turn them over and on the butt it says something stupid like "worth it" or "angel" or some garbage like that... what is that supposed to mean anyways? worth it? my bum bum, or me in general? not sure if i can appreciate that message

Turns out the top is bigger than I thought, and the matching panties are smaller
but whatev's the top fits me pretty good still, I might still take it in and inch or two.

The other panties are made from scraps, an my bum bum loves them!!! so I got it right eventually.....

and these are the franken-panties!

10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: MMORPG Swap Gallery on: February 23, 2009 07:46:01 AM
I bought a warcraft shirt from value village a long time ago, and I made it into this gawdy pink thing for my birthday last year... mostly i just wanted to annoy my bf, since a lot of his friends came to my party too, and they always give him shit about playing wow all the time... but i dont wear that shirt anymore, so i cut it up, and now its on its 3rd life... the pocket on the hoodie is bigger than i would normally make, but i wanted to use the whole battle scene... anyways, i put pics of it on my facebook too and tagged everyone who plays wow, they thought it was pretty funny, but then they just argue about whether horde or alliance is better... i made the hoodie blue because she is alliance... I think I might have to make one for myself too!
