1  Re: Motivational Work-Out Gallery in The Swap Gallery by samsmartypants on: July 17, 2006 04:44:09 AM
I'm glad you liked everything, bookishgrrl. And also thanks for sending me links to the pics you took of what you sent me since my camera is on the fritz.

Here are all my wonderful motivational goodies:

Everything together: A wonderful journal (The adventures of Sam Smart) plus scraps to make it pretty, motivational cards that I already have placed all over the house and on every mirror! A Nalgene bottle (PINK!) with its own drawstring bag in my fave colors- I've used it everyday!, healthy recipe cards, the yummiest smelling eucalyptus and peppermint body spray, and the coolest CD EVER.

The journal alone:

The mixed CD and body spray. If you've never heard of Afro Celt Sound System, please download them now! They kept me going on my 3 mile cross country run this weekend! Love it!

One of the many awesome cards.

I love everything so much! And so far EVERYTHING has been put to good use. Since getting my package I started my diet, began running, and have lost 3 pounds so far. Who knew this swap could be so successful!

what are these cakes thar you talk of?? they sound good.
my hubby said it reminded him of something from charlie and the chocolate factory

Those are examples of a Mad Hatter cake. They're really popular as wedding cakes right now. You can google image more, or try putting in "Whimsy cakes" They're pretty funky.

I would love to see some of your chandeleirs at a wedding with one of those cakes. That would be really neat. (Did I mention I'm a wedding planner? haha)

Sweetttart3 sent me the cutest package! I'm a little late posting pics, but here we go!

The crafty coasters in my favorite colors (white, pink, and green) and clothespin magnets with some recipe cards

My new apron! I made dinner lastnight and refused to take it off even when we went out later! I love it!!!

And the detail. And I like to think that she even looks like me!

I also got a cute magnet notebook shaped like an apron (Haha, Target! And I actually bought the same one to send to you. And then couldn't find it!) and an Airhead. It didn't make it to picture time.  Tongue

Thanks Sweetttart3!

Oh man I just wrote a bunch and lost it...grrrrrr

Anyway, I sent out today and Kristin219 gave me permission to post pics since I sent directly to her boyfriend. I hope he likes everything!

I sent Nate a stuffed turtle, a bleached out gun t-shirt, a mix CD full of cool indie bands, two...one for each of them..Warhol-esque photos I made of them kissing (is it totally weird that I stole it from his myspace?) and a package of Twix.

Here are the pics:

Everything Together-

The cutest little turtle face ever (I was so sad to see him go! My boyfriend wouldn't let me name him because he knew I'd get too attached!)

And a close-up of the pic-

Arent they too darn cute?

5  Guns and Bleach in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by samsmartypants on: May 03, 2006 05:36:14 AM
My very first shirt that has any artistic ability whatsoever. I didn't print out a stencil, so I pretty much just looked at a picture and freehanded it with a bleach pen. I'm amazed it came out this well.

Sadly, it's for a swap that is being sent out this week. I love it though!

Sorry it took me so long to post! HE LOVED EVERYTHING! I surprised him at work and when he saw I had a box with me he got so excited! He's been waiting like crazy for it.

I couldn't take pictures of everything because he was at work but I managed to sneak a few!

Awesome sea creature coasters. (He's an oceanography major)

Rock Box.... with this inside:

J-Rock! When turned to the side he looks like Jay Leno! I was informed by the nerd that it's a viscous igneous rock. Umm right. Silly boy and his rocks.

The frame to which he told me "You are not allowed to steal this!" She even got it engraved to say "Sam and Dean" How sweet is that?

And his favorite thing of all!!!!

He's so excited to wear it tomorrow!

Also in the package were a whole bunch of pretty shells and a really cute (Pink and green!!) bag for ME! Yes!

Thanks Kristin! I'm sending Nate's stuff hopefully by Friday. I already finished 2/3 of it. And grrr... I love one of them so much I want to keep it. (it is good to give to others...it is good to give to others....it is good to give to others.......) Grin

9  DARE halter top in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by samsmartypants on: November 29, 2005 11:58:18 AM
After my friend wore an old DARE shirt to a party I decided I needed one of my own for the Big D show I was going to.

I found one at the local thrift store and turned it into a cute little halter.

I took in the sides, made it shorter and used Red thread to hem it on the top and sides just to make it stand out a little more. The halter part is pieces of the tshirt that I braided together. I think it came out pretty cool

10  Mog- Moogle from Final Fantasy in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by samsmartypants on: March 29, 2005 10:20:44 AM
This is Mog, a moogle from Final Fantasy. My second final fantasy stuffed animal and this was surprisingly harder than Ultros. My boyfriend and I made this for his ex-girlfriend over the weekend. It might've been easier doing it myself, but the boy wanted to learn to sew and that's just too cute to pass up! So here it is...
