21  Re: Summer Fill a Flat Rate box swap gallery! in The Swap Gallery by OhThat on: July 23, 2009 03:37:07 PM
I rec'd today from Kimberly_Star and it was a box full of goodies!

First set, lots of felt (which I really needed) and some nice fabric pieces too!

In the second group is two really nice (and heavy!) books, one on beading, one on papercrafting.  And tons of supplies to get me started on beading and/or jewelry making!

In the final group, more cool fabric in my favorite patterns and colors!

The box weighed a ton and it was so fun getting something nice in the mail (today was my lucky day, I rec'd from TWO swaps today) Smiley

Thanks SO much Kimberly_Star, I can't wait to get started on making stuff with all of my new goodies.

I rec'd today from audio_astrophysics.  She made two of the cutest Sock Monkey bookmarks and a very cool "word collage" bookmark with reading/literature related words (in different languages).  She has really nice handwriting too Smiley  Thanks audio!

(also, the dark spots are from something that is wrong with my camera....and no matter what I did, these photos kept uploading sideways and all wonky looking, even when they looked fine on my computer!!)

24  Re: Language Learner swap: Gallery of Lingual Delights in The Swap Gallery by OhThat on: June 29, 2009 02:11:13 PM
I just received today (not because my partner sent late, but because I was on vacation).  Here are photos of my wonderful items!

This is the front of a very cool journal/dictionary of German words.  I LOVE the fabric (how did she know I adore peacocks???)

This is one of the pages in the book (I chose this one to photograph because I think it's funny).  All of the pages were handmade with neat photos and collages.  Isn't it great?

This journal was an extra gift from my swap partner for my best friend's daughter who is learning Japanese.  I took photos of the inside too but now I can't find them.  Inside are grammar tips, tips on how to actually write the letters in Japanese and a list of "must see" manga/anime cartoons (movies???).  I can't wait to give this to her, she will love it.

This is a gorgeous picture frame.  The background is one of my favorite paintings (A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat).  I have the perfect photo for it and I'm still trying to figure out how she knew I love this painting.

The word at the top is in German and means "to play in a park on a Sunday afternoon" which is beyond clever!

She also included some GORGEOUS fabric that I'm thrilled to add to my stash.

Thank you so much raeraethejetplane, I love everything!  I sent you a PM about your package, which should arrive this week but I still feel terrible about the mix-up.

I received the most wonderful package the other day!  It was from my I Love Musicals Swap Angel, madmommymia:

First is the box of chocolates that was special made:

Then, a wonderful apron...can you tell it's the dress that Annie wore in "Annie"?

look at the little locket, what an adorable detail, I love it!

Then, the coolest frame from The Music Man:

Then, a cozy pillow hand embroidered from "The Sound of Music"

And another beautiful pillow from "Annie"

Thank you SO much madmommymia, it was so sweet of you to angel for me and I love everything you made for me  *big hugs*

I received the most awesome, amazing package from my partner, Merelyme.  I took a bunch of pictures until my battery died.  I am going to take more because there are so many cool things in the package, but I'm too impatient and want to post what I received so you could all be SOOO jealous  Tongue

The container with my FAVORITE cookies.  The colors and patterns are exactly what I would have chosen for myself.  The little box on the top says "whimsical":

then I opened it and it was so full!

I love Pixie Stix

beautiful papers and more of my favorite sweets:

really cool bottle caps (perfect for a collage)

6 babies (hmmmmm.....she must have done some sleuthing  Wink) and NINJAS.  And see that cheeseburger?  It's an eraser and it comes apart. And the blue circle in the middle?  It's a tiny slinky!

the cutest beads I've ever seen....ever

A lovely handmade bracelet

neat little metal things and crafty things:

miniatures...the toaster has toast in it and it pops up!

gorgeous handmade earrings (they are little paper birds, 3 on each earring):

little paper stars:

and the best picture I could get without a wide angle lense of almost everything together (notice the dreamcatcher in the corner, she made that as well!):

There are so many other things; foreign coins, beautiful glass beads with amazing details, more miniatures, paper, cool notecards, keys, etc.

Thank you so much Merelyme, I love everything!!!!

My partner never sent me anything or posted pics of what I sent her, so I thought I'd post what I made & sent to her because I worked really hard on it (though the pics I took weren't that great).  Her favorite musicals were Grease, Hairspray and The Wizard of Oz.

Wizard of Oz long sleeved shirt: ( I redid this shirt 3 times because I kept messing up with the sequins) Smiley

Grease keepsake box:

and Hairspray sketch journal:

And that's that!  Smiley

Yesterday the cutest little bird flew in:

His name is Bumble.  Don't you just want to hug him?  He is learning how to type on a vintage typewriter (very impressive for someone who has wings instead of hands).

But, he also brought his own bed and a gift for me too!  Thank you SO much purlgurl, you went above and beyond!!!
