Woo, so many beautiful stars!

These are my stars from dessadoll.   Aren't they delightful?  She really went all out!

I've also received a lovely set from onyxnox, but haven't had a change to photograph them yet.

3  Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap R10 FOCR R10 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by badpuppy on: November 09, 2011 09:12:50 AM

I won the awesome soap and eye pillow made by miknessevie.

The prize is absolutely perfect for me for several reasons:

1. Lavender is my absolute favourite scent.  I can't get enough of it.
2. I have ridiculously sensitive skin that can't handle perfume at all.  It's really hard to find soap that's actually scented with essential oils and only essential oils, so I normally use boring unscented stuff from a health food store.
3. I get really terrible migraines which cause me to hide in bed with a sleep mask on for days at a time.  I actually use a bit of lavender oil when I have them because I find it soothing (and I've read that it's supposed to help migraines).  So the eye pillow will definitely see use.
4. I love (read: am borderline obsessed with) goats and goat-related products (I plan to have my own goats one day, when the man and I buy a house).

Oh, and the anise soap is also excellent.  I am undecided whether to include it in a Christmas gift for a fisherman relative, or selfishly keep it for myself.  It smells tasty, I may just keep it!

Thanks so much, miknessevie!  I really, really appreciate soap I can use!

So many unique mug rugs!  I love looking at all the different ideas people have for them - so awesome.

I've been a bit slow updating photos (sorry!) but I've received my lovely mug rug from Sinella!

I LOVE the colours and fabrics, and the heart rectangle is a delightful pocket.  I feel like I need to make small cookies that will fit in the pocket. Smiley  Thank you so much, Sinella!  I'm hoping to have a collection of mug rugs, and this is a wonderful first one!

Also, apparently this is the first thing Sinella has ever quilted!  Impressive, hey?  She said she was worried about the binding, but I think it looks awesome.  I would never have guessed this was her first one, that's for sure.

5  Pumpkin cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by badpuppy on: October 24, 2011 03:36:06 PM
I've been making a bunch of these and sending them out as halloween cards, but I had most of them sent before it occurred to me to take photos.  Sorry about the washed out cell phone photos, I was too impatient for my camera to recharge.

I've been taking a drawing class, and we've been practicing by drawing fruits and vegetables, so I got some of those mini ornamental pumpkins to draw.  These are all hand drawn by me, and given that I've never been much good at drawing I'm pretty proud of these!

I drew the little pumpkins, then sewed them onto the card with a piece of fabric.  The fabric was from a pack of charm squares I found on sale at walmart and figured I would find a use for eventually. Smiley  I frayed the edges a bit to add some texture.  I glued a white rectangle of paper inside to write on.

And here they are together, just to show their card-ness.

Thanks for looking!

Buttons! Pins!  Soap! So much awesomeness. Smiley

Here's my offering.  It's a pair of mug rugs.  I hope you like them!

7  Re: Wee House Craftalong-Ongoing 2011 in Craftalongs by badpuppy on: September 20, 2011 07:33:23 PM
Oh wow, I HAVE to try that glue-crackling technique!!  I always assumed that effect took that expensive crackling medium stuff, so never tried.

I promise I will post pics of my actual house one day, but I'm pleased with my tiny food so I had to share!  This is also my VERY FIRST ATTEMPT EVER at working with polymer clay.  Cheesy  I made them about half the size that the tutorials suggested, so they are roughly to the correct scale.

For the bread I followed this tutorial: http://www.cdhm.org/tutorials/learn-to-make-miniature-bread.html

For the pumpkin this one: http://www.cdhm.org/tutorials/learn-to-sculpt-pumpkins.html
I did the carrots on my own, based on what I had learned from the pumpkin.

I am now addicted!  I made a bunch more already, but they were in the oven during photo-time.  If anyone needs tiny bread or pumpkins, let me know... I have excess already!

When Burgz wanted to make my a "lacy crocheted item", one of the things I mentioned I might like was a colourful doily.  Can't get more colourful than this!  I love it!  So not your Grandma's doily!  It's giant too, at least a foot across (I didn't actually measure).

Her stitches are so tiny and even, I don't know how you crochet types do it without going crazy.

(Sorry for the kinda crappy pictures, for some reason my camera doesn't like it.)

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet... maybe just use it like a regular doily (it would look awesome under a table lamp)... maybe frame it and hang it in my craft space... or maybe make a skirt to sew it too. Either way, it's excellent.  Thanks again Burgz, it was worth the wait!  Cheesy

I have also been having internet issues!  After being reassured that we would "just need to plug in the modem" when we moved on Saturday, it's been 5 days, 2 technicians, and a 3 hour install but I FINALLY have internet!  It's fun renting an old house...

Anywho, I received my lovely gift from Biochic!  It's a bed for my little dog.  It came addressed to him, care of me, which clearly confused my mailman (my dog's name is Ogedei).  It's super soft and the fabric looks like tooled leather... I love it!  I could not have chosen a more perfect fabric, really.

And now on to the photos, complete with puppy action.  He REALLY likes it when I put it in the sunshine.

(the following is just for gratuitous cuteness' sake.)

Thanks so much, Biochic!

No sign of my other package from Burgz. Sad  She sent before Biochic.  I'm wondering if the landlord checked the mail and has it stashed somewhere, even though she said it was fine if mail came for us before I moved in. I'll check with her tomorrow.

I received from Icekibby a while ago, but have failed at posting photos in a timely matter!  Sorry everyone!  I'm packing up to move across the country, and it's been chaos around here.

I did manage to snap some photos of her wonderful stuffs before repacking them for their journey to our new home.

First, this wonderful caravan notebook!  Isn't it so sweet?  Perfect for the woman about to pack all her belongings into her car and drive across Canada. Smiley

All the pages are decorated.  I love it.  I don't have the patience for papercrafts like this, so I really appreciate having something like this!

Item #2: beautiful gypsy ATC!  Lovelyness!

And speaking of lovelynesses that I don't have the patience or skill for, Icekibby sent me the AMAZING, painted paper doll.  ICEKIBBY I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!  She is full jointed and poseable. She's bases on Rajastani gypsies that I mentioned in my questionnaire, but with some belly dance fusion style.

Have I mentioned that I love her?  Icekibby is super talented!  I am going to frame her and display her proudly!

Plus, I got some lovely, sparkly extras.  I already have plans for the fringe and some of the red beads in the bag.

Thank you SO SO much Icekibby!  This has been a wonderful swap!
