1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 58 ENTRIES / wintry cannibal frosty on: January 03, 2011 11:57:44 AM
heres a gingerbreadhouse I made. I believe in covering most of it- because the more sugar the better.

on a cookie sheet because its soo heavy.
The frosty i had made out of marshmallows-
and he's holding a tooth pick in his gloved hands- so i guess thats not edible. But hey im cool with it. the fire was made from  ripping apart the candle wax off of a flickering tealight candle- until only the guts of it remained(circuit board, bulb, wires) covered it in fruit roll up- torn to look flamey. He's roasting a mini marshmallow- like the ones that come in instant hot cocoa mix. Kind of canniballistic. It made everyone chuckle. The trees are made from ice cream cones turned upside down and rolled in sugar.

In progress- he had no hat and i hadnt finished the trees or fence. This picture you can see the flickering loliipop i got for the north pole.
Got a hat now

I dont expect to be the best or brightest- nor do i expect a big win. I just wanted to share some of the details..

Beautiful cake! Is the whole thing covered in white chocolate shavings? It looks so luxurious!
Also, is your avatar from a TTD shoot?
To answer your questions-
Yes- the whole cake is chocolate shavings. I actually didnt get any choice when it came to picking the cake out beforehand . I never got to see the size- i was just told it was around 8- 10 inches on the bottom layer and 6 in. on top- and it would be shaved chocolate with no decorations. This made it extremely diff to pick out decorations- and cake top. ( and we had to lug it all (the flowers and beads )with us and assemble there) Im still surprised how well planned out it looks.

Yes my avatar is from a Trash the dress shoot. I have lots more pictures. It was quite fun ! and freezing. If any one wants to see more... let me know...

If anyone wants to know where i got the orchids from overseas!?!- free shipping!!!! PM me.

i don't have shots of it lit up yet....i don't have a lightbulb on a cord...where do i get one of those hmm that will be my next shopping adventure! thanks so much for this post it was incredibly inspiring!

those are called lightbulb cord- or inline cords. they are less than 10 $ - your lamp looks small- i would just be careful that my lightbulb set wasnt too big or too hot- and melt your shade.... hope this helps!
