1  Re: Chuck Palahniuk Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by nevaehyeknom on: October 22, 2008 11:47:03 PM
Finally posting --- I received on Monday and opened today!  I had to send late so I wanted to wait to open.  It was excruciating!

I got an AMAZING package from Anna, endlessly_intricate.  I'm so self conscious that my package won't be anywhere near as good!  Without further ado:

Fight Club soap cozy and a beanie for my son that looks like an eyeball!  It's great!

Chucky P coasters!

My new favorite shirt, a Survivor shirt and you can also see the bag of Super Magical confetti from Chuck Palahniuk that Anna was nice enough to share with me!

Chucky P pins on the AMAZING HAT that I got!

My pretty puff slouch hat, and some of the gags, a gel rat, watermelon pop rocks, a promotional Choke bookmark from the snuff tour with some...*ahem* crazy beads attached, lol!

All the wonderful stuff all together!  Oh, and an invisible monsters key chain that I forgot to mention and get a close up of. :S

I haven't gotten a picture of Evander in the beanie yet though.  It's great, the beanie was a gag gift so I didn't get to tell her that he has just this gigantic skull! (inherited from me)  Lol, his pediatrician is like, It's fine, but I'll keep this freaking looking growth chart.  Anyway, it looks like a yarmulke on him, it's HILARIOUS!

Me in my new favorite hat!  Seriously!

2  Easy Hazelnut cake in Dessert by nevaehyeknom on: October 01, 2008 02:57:20 PM
After the recent purchase of a cake leveler, my boyfriend and I have been experimenting with layer cakes.
This was our first legit try, and we also made a hazelnut cake from scratch.  We did kind of cheat though, we used a white cake recipe (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sara-moulton/classic-white-cake-recipe/index.html) , and just added hazelnut syrup to it.  We used less milk, and just added about half a cup of hazelnut syrup to it, and about two cups of macadamia nuts.  Then we made a home made butter cream frosting using this recipe: http://whatscookingamerica.net/PegW/ButtercreamIcing.htm

We drizzled it with caramel.  It was VERY TASTY!

3  Barack Obama collage in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by nevaehyeknom on: September 21, 2008 07:24:57 PM
...I think this is the right place to post this....

Barack Obama collage I made for my older brother for his birthday.  A cork board and about 4 copies of newsweek easily yielded enough pictures of OUR FUTURE PRESIDENT to make an awesome gift.

I decoupaged it later, but I don't have pictures of that.  Undecided

and it was quite difficult to take pictures of anyway....

Let me know what you think!  Comments?  Criticism?

4  *1st post* - Super bright strip/scrap quilt! in Quilting: Completed Projects by nevaehyeknom on: September 21, 2008 07:17:35 PM
I got a ton of fabric from my mom that she could never quite fit in to one of her quilts, and it started out as a few strips of fabric adhered with stitch witch, but I liked it so much I decided to fully make it into a quilt.

Let me know what you think!  Comments and criticism appreciated!
