ooh untangle - who are you??  did you have something to do with the show...maybe I'm reading too much into this, but from your post it seems as thought you were involved  Shocked

aah squirrelly - you got here before i did, good job on the spoiler notice!  Grin

i completely agree with you, once again, about the complete lack of focus on the designs! i was hoping for an extra long special dammit...
i was hoping for some nice long interviews with the designers at the end, and maybe with the judges? i wanted to hear more of what they thought about the whole shebang  Sad

kirsty definitely deserved to win...i loved her collection...the colours were amazing!
i did like matthew's collection for it's simplicity, but it wasn't interesting as a runway collection - it wasn't cutting edge enough for london, i think it was more catered towards the american market.
debbie's...well it's hard to tell what her designs were like, being that we only got a very brief glimpse of the outfits.  i think she has some amazing technical skills, but i do agree with the judge that said she tried too hard...there were some  great pieces (from what i could see), but it kinda seemed like there was no one idea going on, so it didn't flow like it should've (in my opinion).

i'm wondering if there'll be a follow up programme?? see what the other designers are doing, and how kirsty has gotten on doing her thing

i'm glad another brand wanted to pick up the other two for a 5000 mentorship...(i forget which brand it was)

does anyone else think it strange that none of the designers collection had outfits with accessories?  i know they had a budget, but i just found that weird...

13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / making stuff from plastic on: March 15, 2006 06:20:00 AM
since no schools/colleges around me cater for crafty people, i've been teaching myself how to make jewellery.

something i've become really interested in is crafting pendants out of acrylic - well any kind of plastic actually...but i can't seem to find a good book on this kind of jewellery work anywhere!  can anyone recommend one?

i also came across some laser-cut pendants yesterday, and obviously i don't own a laser cutting/etching machine so i was wondering if anyone knows how i'd go about getting some custom pieces made somewhere?
i'm a total novice in this area...so i hope you can bare with my questions (^_^)

edited the subject title in the hopes that someone might be able to answer me haha

you're most definately welcome - i didn't want to go and ruin it for anyone!
i'll be sure to use a gigantic one after the final  Smiley

i would've picked debbie to win too...i want that dress for myself!

well the final is tomorrow, and i can't wait....

primark have every style of jeans you could possibly imagine!  unfortunately their sizing varies from pair to pair, but i think they have the biggest range to fit the most amount of people on the cheap.

good luck!

about the grey dress - i know, liz hurley...what were you thinking calling that tarty??
i wish julien had said what he was actually thinking...he always manages to tell the designers exactly what he thinks of them, but liz hurley musn't know the truth?  ah...ignorance is bliss (if you're a celebrity).

i'm really looking forward to thursday, and finding out who won!

wow...they're beautiful!  does the finished product feel like clay...i mean, could it crack the way clay does?  or is it just metal?

haha...thought i'd just make sure

well...it certainly didn't turn out as i thought it would.  firstly, christopher - what in gods name were you thinking!  the dress he made was awful, in my opinion.  from the way he'd described it, and from his sketches, i thought it sounded lovely (albeit not liz hurley's style, but still pretty).  it was just too stiff...i think it was the wrong dress to put a thigh-high split into, too.  though he did make a terrible mistake with the dress, i don't think he should've gone - based on his previous creations, confidence in talking to people in the business...and in his own design-work, and his obvious technical skills, he should be going to london fashion week.

i don't care what the judges said...i loved what kirsty and debbie did this week!  i loved the designs, and the colours were amazing.
though i don't think that his dress was anything special, i was impressed that matthew pulled off making a dress with such a short amount of time to spare (and especially since his model was late arriving!).

well i can't wait for the last show!  it'll be great to see the collections, and obviously seeing who wins!  i honestly have no idea who to put my money on now

i'm gonna kinda be sad when this is over...it was pretty enjoyable for the most part.
