23  Summer is for Sanrio/Hello Kitty Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by nmcakemom07 on: June 10, 2011 03:57:44 PM

Hi!  I have co-organized a Hello Kitty Swap in the past and was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a Summer Sanrio Swap?
It would be a 6 point swap with sign ups from June 17th to June 30th, and sendouts on August 8th.  We had some awesome fun with this one in the past.

I would be willing to organize this,  getting a co-organizer if the number of participants exceeds 25.

Let me know what you think!

Here's some past galleries for inspiration!

24  My first knitted sugar skull pillow in Knitting: Completed Projects by nmcakemom07 on: June 07, 2011 06:01:22 PM
I am new to knitting (less than a year) and just learned how to knit in the round with dpns.  I love it and can't stop!  I knitted this for my partner H00lie for the Dia de los Muertos swap.

I used a pattern from the Book Knit Wits that is actually supposed to be the body of a ninja.  This is a great book for a novice knitter like me.

After stuffing, I sewed on 2 fabric daisies for eyes and glued on felt and brads for the other features.  I then used fabric paints for embellishment.

Thanks for looking!

v3nu5 sent me some pretty awesome extras in the OTstuffie swap as well!  I think this has been our 4th swap but I'm not too sure either.
My extras (she went to the Sanrio store in Las Vegas and got me Keroppi goodness, most of which I will have to hide from my niece)

She also got me a Kuromi charm, a Hello Kitty flip flop lip gloss, and a Dark Chocolate double mint truffle choxie bar. ( I love these, the name sounds like something Willy Wonka would make)

Thank you so much, you are an awesome partner!!!!!

27  Re: One Tiny Stuffie Swap--Round 5 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by nmcakemom07 on: May 09, 2011 07:18:36 PM
First off, I really love the turtle!  I would love him and call him Squirt.

There are uber great things about this swap:  One, the obvious, the swap itself. Two, my partner, my CBF(Crafty Best friend). Three, she lives in the next state over so packages get here super fast, and Four, my swap package which as always is fantastically fabulous!(and it came on a blustery Monday so things are looking up this week after all).  We both are notorious spoilers, so be prepared for greatness.  We love love love everything!!!!!

My stuffies

My favorite animal in the world

My favorite owl in the world(straight off of my wists)

Stan from South Park for my hubby

Last but not least, everyone who has partnered with me in this swap, knows that I always request something elephant for my son who is high functioning autistic and OBSESSED with all things elephant.  So v3nu5 did not disappoint.  Jesse is thrilled and grabbed this fresh out of the box and took off with it.

A very happy boy.  The elephant's name is now Thornsley and has been accepted into the herd.
Final picture, Jess made me take this pic of Thornsley's butt because he just loves his tail

Thank you V!  Awesome as always!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I received from my angel teraspawn yesterday but due to a camera malfunction, I wasn't able to post my pictures until now.  Prepare for awesomeness.
First my favorite character is Raj.  This is my favorite quote from him, immortalized in needlepoint.

Next is this fantastic bat'leth stuffy.  I now feel safe from all of the Todd Zarneckis and Wil Wheatons of the world.

She said of course it is worthless without its certificate of authorization.  I think it is priceless!  Hubby is trying to take it to work to impress his fellow computer geeks.  Not happening!
Thanks teraspawn!  I absolutely love it!  You're amazing!

I received my package from my angel Vanillyz today.  Definitely worth the wait!  She was nice enough to include things for my entire family.

the group shot

First this wonderful postcard

I feel like it had a Golden ticket in it!

Then these needle felted pencil toppers of Jack Skellington and his dog Zero for my son

This cool set of felt coasters of Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett  and one of Jack for the kiddo.

and this absolutely fabulous Neddle Felted Queen of Hearts.  This is the very first needle felting she has ever done.

Bring me a pig!

Thank you so much Vanillyz for being the best angel ever.  MUAH Kiss

I received my package today, that I apparently left behind at Ollivander's a while ago while wand shopping.  Luckily Mr. Ollivander has a wonderful and thoughtful apprentice in PepperRose22.  She was also nice enough to include a bracelet with some of my fellow members of the Order of the Phoenix, and 1 picture of my Sworn enemy, Bellatrix!

First my fabulous letter

I love the wax seal.

Our Family's wands

and their explanations

My husband's

My son's

Our wands picked us out perfectly.

This bracelet is amazing!  I love how all of my friends and my mortal enemy's houses are on the back of their pictures.

And finally our wizard in training practicing his spells

Thank you so much PepperRose22!! Everything is awesome!!!  Remember, a family that casts together, lasts together!  Grin
