Aww..so cute! My dad is actually a huge Shaun fan - it's turned into a bit of a tradition that I get him something Shaun related for his birthday every year  he'd love this  Smiley

Thanks for posting that explanation of what a battery hen actually is (didn't think of that!)  Smiley

The conditions they live in can cause a lot of health problems (including loss of feathers) - so these jumpers help them to keep a bit more snug.

There is more info about the work the rescue centre do here:

Although I should warn that there are some sad pictures there and I'm now considering adopting some chickens of my very own  Wink
293  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Jumpers for ex- battery hens (UK based) on: April 09, 2010 03:46:03 PM

Hi all,

I hope it's ok to post this here but I just read an article about this in a magazine and it melted me a little bit so I thought I'd post it in case any knit-a-holics have a desire to make these jumpers (I'm learning to knit at the moment and this has given me the motivation to carry on with that  Smiley ).

A group of knitters meet up to make jumpers for battery hens who need a bit of extra warmth while their feathers grow back, and have also asked for people to make the jumpers and send them through to them.

You can find out a bit more about it part way down this page:

And the pattern and address to send the jumpers to is here:

Labryinth is my daughter's favorite movie

Your daughter has an amazing taste in movies, I think it might still be my all-time fav as well  Smiley

These are so cute! You've done a great job of capturing the characters in plush form  Smiley

Little grumpy Snape plushie would be an amazing addition too  Grin
296  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cross Stitch Sampler of Geekdom on: April 08, 2010 11:14:03 AM
Hi - so this is my first time posting anything I've made (eek!)

This is a sampler I designed and made for a friend for Christmas. I (not so subtly) asked her for a list of her most favourite geeky television programmes/ films and then picked some to design a sampler around. Deciding what images to use for each thing was a lot of fun  Grin

Anyway, I was rubbish and didn't take any pictures so the recipient (who's a member here) has sent some through to me (if you see this post - thank you hun!)

I'll leave you to see if you can work out what the  geeky references are  Wink

Thanks for looking  Smiley
