1  Re: Wes Anderson Swap Take 3 - Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by theshipshape on: October 26, 2009 03:33:11 PM
I'm so happy with this swap! I love swaps with really specific themes, because you're always pretty sure that your partner will understand your tastes.  AppleSweet totally got me on this one and I love her for it.

She's an amazing artist folks. This is what I got:

I'm so sorry that my webcam is all I have right now. I wish you could all see how great her artwork is. One of my favorite things in TLA too.

A closer-up:

She also sent a really great, detailed embroidery project with a feather (The Darjeeling Limited is one of my favorites):

It's so cute and ready to hang on the wall in its hoop. I love it.

And of course, one of Chaz's dalmatian mice (It's a cat toy, but I won't let the cat have it):

I really love everything, and I loved this swap!  My package will go out on Thursday and I cannot wait to see if AppleSweet loves everything as much as I do.

Thank you AppleSweet!

Alright! I'm here with all the great stuff that KMartKid sent me. I love everything, but I'll start with the show-stopper...

A really sweet little bag with a Little Prince theme. I love it, and it is sooo me. She stalked well. The front says, "Et grande personne ne comprendre jamais que ca a tellement d'importance."

The back says, "La fleur que tu aimes n'est pas en danger."

Here's the rest of the loot! Some lavender candles that are already burning, candy (not pictured because we ate it), a cute book, a notebook (and pens) for all of my projects, and a felt Ipod holder.

This was really a great swap, and I truly appreciate all of the thought that went into my gifts. Thanks KMartKid!

3  Christmas Stockings! in Winter Holidays by theshipshape on: January 18, 2009 03:40:55 PM
Woohoo, first post.
So this year I really wanted to do something heartfelt for my brother, his wife, and my new (2 month old) nephew.

So I decided on stockings. And then we decided to make an extra one for their next (someday) baby.
They're nothing special really, but as they were one of my first real sewing projects, I thought I'd show them off here. They each have the initial of the person using them appliqued and hand sewn on. I really love this fabric, not too Christmassy.

Thanks for looking.

Yay! I am so glad that you liked your package nemejia. Now everyone gets to see how wonderful yours was for me.
I cannot express how perfect this is for me. I love it.

It's a little birdie pincushion. It's wonderfully detailed and perfectly my style. And it's going to keep my needles nice and sharp. How thoughtful.

I just cannot get over how cute the little bird is. Thank you so much Nemejia.

5  Re: Holiday Ornament Swap Gallery (Sendouts: 12/12/08) in The Swap Gallery by theshipshape on: December 15, 2008 04:39:11 PM
I wanted to share all of the great things that tsarinaerika sent me from Canada. I really love everything and I am deeply touched by the care and thought she put into these items.

I love all the little extras that really made it special (especially the playing cards)! She also included some little bookmarks, which I immediately gave away to my mother, as well as a really perfect Sarah McLachlan Christmas cd. So sweet.

All of the amazing small ornaments that she sent. I really love cross stitch since that is one of the things that I cannot do.

How cute are the hat and mittens? I really couldn't believe that she spent so much time on me.

Handmade Christmas cards! They are so intricate. I wish I had patience like she does, but just wait.

She made this adorable little santa garland, which was immediately hanging on my bookcase! I love it and it matches my stuff perfectly.

Look at how perfect each little guy is!

An adorable little stocking, which will be the cat's stocking. It matches ours so well.

What a cute little book.

Oh wait, what an awesome little book!

I cannot tell you how wonderful an experience this has been for me. I have truly been spoiled and am looking forward to my next swap.
