1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Never Knitted, but would like to learn to make this... on: November 16, 2010 08:29:48 PM
I have tried to teach myself to knit but didn't know what I was doing, but watching some youtube videos I am getting some confidence built back up. I would like to make a Hat for my Fiance that looks like this:

My Fiance, (very much like Seth Rogen) has a huge head and a mop full of curly hair... and it is hard to find hats for him, so I thought I could make him one.

All I know is that I'd need a set of round knitting needles... but have no clue as what to do to go about making this hat a reality, so I was wondering if anyone had any begginers tips. Or if I should just keep this project for a later date and just start on scarves.... Though I'm pretty strong willed when I set my mind to something, I just don't want to get in over my head. Help!

Since I love Bob Dylan so much and couldn't wait for the shirt that I ordered online to come in the mail, I made one to help me wait.

There was a small hole in the original tee so I sewed a heart over it ^_^

I used http://www.neitherhipnorfunky.com/?p=106 as a tutorial ^_^

I used an Image of Bob I found on the internet, and put it with text in a photo editing software

Yes... yes you can... in all seriousness you can. I dont know how expensive this paint is... but it is called Thermochromatic Paint that changes color from black to white when you heat it up (i.e. your warm breath on the mask) I just found out about this the other day... and it actually works I've seen people use it online on youtube... again I dont know the price but the effect is almost exact to the movie I want to make one when I get the money to...
here is a site concerning this type of paint

here is a link to the youtube vid I got this from...
