31  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Skeleton Skirt made with no pattern, totally freehand (img heavy) on: October 06, 2008 06:49:56 PM
I tried ot post this a minute ago and the computer quit.....here goes nothing:

I made this with no pattern and a yard of neat fabric. If the pics look crooked it is cause I am sticking my knee out.

32  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / giving peace a chance on: September 14, 2008 12:05:04 PM
I have seen a couple posts with these wire-wrapped peace signs on them (i think the first was inspired by a necklace on "americas next top model" but I cant find the post). I wanted one, so I decided to try my hand at making one. They are awesomely easy. I made 2

number one, huge peace sign in silver and turquoise with red accent beads:

seond one is about an inch and a half big, with red sed beads and silver round beads

33  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / recipie: chicken rotini marinara on: September 13, 2008 09:53:05 PM
For the sauce:

1 can tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp italian seasoning
Chopped green onions to taste
1 or 2 whole diced tomatoes (optional)

mix all ingredients and bring to a boil

in another pan, cook chicken until golden brown

in another pot, boil whole wheat (or regular) rotini pasta

dice chicken when it is cooked, and dump into the sauce mixture

when pasta is done, drain, and pour chicken and sauce on top

it tastes really good and you can add mushrooms if you want to.

I made this up the other night.
34  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Hanging Chore Chart on: September 13, 2008 09:43:08 PM
I made this so I would remember which housework to do on which day. It was made out of heavy canvas edged in hem facing. The pockets are sccraps. I cut strips of craft foam and wrote chore names on them and put them in the pockets. I used fabric markers to write days of the week and things I should do every day

35  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Groovy Flower Hippie Apron on: September 12, 2008 05:37:47 PM
I made this apron from an old pillow that was huge, but had some stains on the back. I liked the flower, and was gonna make a tote, but decided on an apron instead. i made the ruffles in leftover tie-dye fabric i have had for ages. I also added some of it to the ends of the straps. I like it, and it makes me feel happy one gloomy days. I am gonna be Mrs Scrooge and keep it instead of making it a christmas gift

36  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / The bigger the bed, the bigger the guilt on: September 11, 2008 08:13:17 PM
We have a new puppy (labrador and golden reteiver mix) who thinks my dining room is a toilet since nothing is in there (and i mean nothing at all, we just moved in). Yesterday was the last straw and I kicked him out of the house temporarily. Then I felt bad, cause he was my present from my husband to make me feel better about the deployment, so I coaxed him back in and made him a bed.

In-progress pic with Gus (Captian Agustus McCray is his full name, and whoever knows who that is gets a virtual doggie treat)

I had to hand-sew the sides on it.

finally finished.

"mom, where is it? huh mom? mooooom.......

37  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / mistletoe? on: September 05, 2008 10:59:44 AM
I have scads of mistletoe growing on all of my trees. It is  a pest and I am in the process of removing it before it kills my trees.  I want to take some down and preserve it to use for the upcoming christmas season. What kind of things can I make with mistletoe and how can I preseve it?
38  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / sexy madhouse escapeee? on: August 20, 2008 04:03:47 AM
I wanted to do a costume with a straight jacket, but wanted to make it kinda cute, maybe a little sexy. I dont like any of the costumes like this I have seen in the shops (not enough straps). It kinda fits in with the "alice cooper" look I wanted this haloweeen.

i was thinking maybe getting a cute, form fitting jacket and sewing on makeshift straps, and slattering red paint to give it that "i just killed someone" look.

I may duplicate the straps for the skirt also, but would that be "too much"?
39  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Alice Cooper Pajamas and a skimpy bikini (LOTS O'PICS) on: August 15, 2008 12:37:54 PM
I recently bought the newest Alice Cooper CD (along came a spider), and the black widow symbol was begging to be made into pajamas. So I made a cute cami out of an XXL Shirt my mom gave me, and some discount blue fabric from Hancocks. I tried embroidering and appiquie-ing the symbol on them , but that didnt work, so I brought out the trusty fabric pens. Overall I am satisfied with My work.

Front of the cami:

the Black Widow is eating my boooob!!!

Left side with smaller black widow eye

the boyshorts were a pattern I made myself. I wanted to ruffle the whole back, but ran out of fabric, so I ruffled the sides.

front of the boyshorts (they are high like granny panties but comfy)

This bikini was made with the rest of the old shirt, and some beads that fell off a necklce. The top fits perfectly, but the bottoms are veeery skimpy. On a size 10 girl like me, it looks a lot different than it does on this hard plastic dressform thing.

40  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / How do I make this Vivi Van Stori outfit? on: August 08, 2008 07:48:47 PM
I am not sure who made this, but it is in the photo below on Vivi Van Stori's pinup art website. I think the outfit is the prettiest thing I have ever seen and I would love ot re-create this. How could I do it?
