11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: 1950s Summer Dress (pic heavy) on: March 27, 2010 02:16:15 PM
The dress is beautifulllllll ! I especially love the fullness of it with the petticoat...how did you make it, pretty please? I also have a soft spot for 50's dresses but still haven't had the guts to make a petticoat...any pattern suggestion for the petticoat?
Thanks and well done!  Shocked

I like your dress! Very summery Smiley
For the top part (high bust), you could sew a thin or clear elastic on the back - that might pull it closer to your body and make it not gape.

And, great job on the smocked part on the back, I am still scared of doing it.

To all the boobalicious craftster-ers - if you put a wider elastic under you "assets" Wink it provides more support. I also found that if you use stronger knit/ or line the triangles with it it provides more support Smiley
14  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Would you knit this? (or wear it ?) on: July 30, 2008 11:20:57 PM
I love it and if I ever make it I WILL wear it...Mind you, New Mexico has about 300 sunny days, so I might have to wait for winter ...if I ever decide to spend hours with stockinette  Embarrassed
