I love this idea, but I am way more impressed by how thoughtfully you decided to use the eggs! Your friends are very lucky to have you  Wink

Your clothes are always so gorgeous, but this is my favorite shade of blue, and I do love Colette patterns...I'm gonna have to try this pattern some time!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: so I bought my first dress pattern today..... on: October 04, 2008 08:45:14 PM
Don't worry too much about the zipper. The first one I ever used I made a concealed one, and it's honestly pretty easy. As for insane directions, I like to look at the pictures...a lot. And then I try to figure it out by holding stuff together before sewing. I definitely recommend the Built By Wendy book Sew U for learning how to do the basics, and her follow-up for working with jersey and knits. The woman makes it simple and I own them both for that reason (plus the patterns that are in the back of the book, with instructions on how to turn them into a ton of different things)
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: my first high skirt from floral bed sheet... on: October 02, 2008 12:53:46 AM
For a first project you did an amazing job. The zipper is great and the skirt fits really, really well. Oh, and time-wise, I've rarely made any piece of clothing in under 3 hours. DEFINITELY keep sewing!
