1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crochet in Fiction (Movies, TV, Books) on: October 05, 2012 09:19:07 PM
There is a really cool afghan on 30 Rock in Kenneth's apartment, it is multi primary color triangles with black. I would love to know more about it!

This is the next afghan for the eldest of a friends three girls. The granny ripple was for the youngest and the middle daughter is getting a granny swirl.

She chose the colors from my stash and after I used up the first 3 skeins I realized one color was discontinued. DOH!
Thankfully a kind soul sent me one after I posted on another crochet forum.
This is a modification of the Red Heart pattern called Daydreamer Diagonal Blanket #LW2580

Stats: 6888 double crochets, 6888 single crochets, 2296 slip stitches, and 3 colors.

Thank you all!

I couldn't find a written pattern so I just winged it.
I am not a pattern writer, I do better with the diagrams, so bear with me please.

Make a standard granny with 5 rows on the joining and subsequent ripple rows begin with a chain 3 in the ch 2 corner of the granny and then granny around the next corner as usual until you reach the opposite corner from where you started and cluster the three dc on current granny and next granny to be joined. so you will have 6 DC on the hook then finish cluster stitch, chain 1 and continue on granny squaring over the next granny until you have joined all the grannys in a row finishing with a chain 3 just like you started. the chain 3 starts/finishes become the edges of the afghan.

I hope this makes sense. Smiley

Saw this pattern on Pinterest last week and had to make it for a friends little girl.
It is 3x5 foot and worked up pretty fast.

The middle is 5 grannys and then you just crochet around them.

Thanks for looking!

Stats: 9576 double crochets, 3756 single crochets, and 28 colors.

5  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: JUNE: Yoyo-along on: June 05, 2012 06:53:02 AM
I have this one buried in my yarn closet somewhere that was supposed to be one yoyo of every yarn I purchased after I learned to crochet. It is really in need of some updating so this could give me the motivation to catch up!

The kitty jumping on the handle is my favorite so far since he loves my yarn stash almost as much as I do. Hope everyone is having a great day!

We had a home assessor coming in today and I had to try and close my yarn stuffed closets door...no easy task even with my weight pressing against it! Then as he entered the bedroom a wave of terror struck me that he might open the door and die from a yarnvalanche. Thankfully he just said hi to my cat, scribbled on his paper, and walked out. My new problem is how do I open the door with out the same fate befalling me? Grin

Still have quite a few flowers to add to the grannys, but this is what I have so far.

KismetFyrechyld, Thank You!

I debated doing this as well because I miss seeing everyone's pics and the motivation it provides.

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Handsome Classic Afghan (I didn't name it!) =) on: October 30, 2011 08:43:44 PM
This is from the book Mile-a-Minute Afghans in the colors selected by Twoseagreeneyes on Ravelry. I saw it used my favorite Red Heart multi Peruvian Print and had to make the exact same one.
