11  Re: Easy Peasy 2 Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by bminks on: June 15, 2009 05:05:51 PM
when I got home from my trip I found this awesome little package waiting for me from stephanieyoo.

She sent me a knitting magazine, some teas (which I'm gonna try out later tonight) and some flags based on one of my blog posts. Not to mention the actual easy peasy item: a hip new headband! I have been wanting one of these since Kenley wore them last year on project runway.

The best part is that my curly hair covers most of the band so that only the feathery party shows. Smiley although that does mean part of the button is covered up.

I seriously loved everything a lot. I'm going to wear that headband everywhere I can now. I can't thank you enough, stephanieyoo!

Stephanieyoo's been really busy, so she asked me to post pics of the necklace I sent her. She loves it, so I am very happy. ^^

It's a locket!

I seriously lucked out. After MANY failed bookbinding attempts, I remembered that I had this dude and that Stephanieyoo likes lockets. Its also her fav color!

I didn't get any shots of the extras I sent her, which were some cute fabric squares and a chocolate bar. I'm also really happy the chocolate didn't get all melty in transit.

13  "prototype" cards- lots of pics in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by bminks on: April 26, 2009 11:25:43 AM
These cards were all made when I wanted to try a new style or technique. My mom dubbed them all prototypes, and the name sort of stuck.

This one's my favorite:

the rest of the cards are blank on the inside.

yeah, that was supposed to be a flower, but I painted it on upside down. oops.

This one is not upside down, though.

These will probably all end up going to close friends and family who won't mind/notice all the tiny mistakes.

14  Flapper-style blank notebook in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by bminks on: April 19, 2009 08:16:31 AM
I made this book about a year ago. I have this collection of old newspaper cutouts of fashion drawings that I love working with. I've toted this thing around since then and it's now filled with random doodles. I used photo printer paper for the pages and the covers are made of old cardboard boxes- yay recycling!

the front cover:

the back:

close up of the  spine:

I didn't take pictures of the inside of the covers, but they are just plain orange card stock.

15  The terrible monster in Knitting: Completed Projects by bminks on: April 17, 2009 12:57:02 PM
I've been lurking here forever and I finally have something I want to post!

This is one of the first things I've ever knitted without a pattern. Well almost without a pattern. He's a little rough around the edges, but I love him to pieces anyway.

I also made him some accessories.
The terrible scarf:

And the Terrible(ly fabulous) boa:

I made this by finger knitting some ribbon I got at the dollar store 3 or 4 years ago. I'm glad I finally had a use for it. Smiley

I am currently making a box to hold all his accessories (i plan on making more.). It has a burning city on it, and he's going to sit on top; which is why his arms are up in that "triumphant pose".
