1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Clean-Along Its time for a major cleanup and redo- Post Your Own Pics on: November 06, 2008 08:59:02 AM
Wow guys, reading this post has made me feel so much better about the mess I have to tackle in my room. I've been living in my apartment for months but still have loads of stuff from my last apartment boxed up in my parents house because I haven't been sure how it's gonna fit. Also I have to finish painting the walls and generally decorating as I only got half way when I did it up first! And the place is a serious mess, there's clothes, books and general crap all over the place. And everytime I make a big step into cleaning it, it just seems to get seriously messy again before I make it to the finish line.

I currently have a seriouly nasty dose of flu and the only thing I want to do is curl up in bed in a lovely clean room but the sight in front of me when I open the door is seriously depressing. I'm letting myself take it slow because of the afformentioned sickness but I think if I at least make a start on it I'll feel a bit better.

Okay, my list has quite a few stages:

1) Tidy
- Organise clothes and run pretty much everything through the wash (Most of it's been living on the floor and I got LOTS of clothes..)
- Throw out all the general crap that's just lying around the place
- Group stuff that will have to be stored somehow like scarves, jewellery, belts etc.

2) Paint

3)Figure out how I'm gonna store stuff/ buy shelves etc.

4)Bring over all the stuff from my parents

5)Figure out how the hell that's all meant to fit in my room

6)Get extra pillows and cushions for the bed and cover them

7)Decorate the walls

I'll try and take some before pictures if I can find my camera.

Oh, and I was thinking about running a line of shelves up a partition wall, rather than having a bookcase to hold stuff to save on room. Does anyone know if there's much limit on how much weight I could put on them? Don't want to rip a chunk of plaster out!

Honestly, most of the time I see stuff with this kind of title I think... 'well, that's just a bit embarrassing' and picture the faces of a load of boys i know if they were given an 'I love you' scrapbook. Don't mean to be negative but... I dunno, it's all generally a bit mushy for me! So when I read the title, i wasn't really expecting to be overly into the book but THIS IS AWESOME!!!! I don't know if it's the way you've laid it out, or the colours that you've used or what but well done! I most definately falls on the side of funky rather than cheesy. Or if cheesy, only in a really really cool way.

You have me impressed.

Very very pretty tshirt. I've been staring at the picture trying to find the right word and the one that comes to mind is elegant. it reminds me of grown up china tea cups with a modern twist. And I'm also a big fan of the green on green. I think it looks great.

I also assumed the thickness on the petals was on purpose! Go with it!!

Wow, these are super  super pretty. (Just noticed that pretty much every post I've put up starts with wow... tis wonderful to be amazed so often on craftster!)

Any chance of a tutorial on the netting bit? I'd love to make one 3ft wide to hang over my bed. Haven't had a dream catcher in years!
