1  Re: Craft with a Fat Quarter Swap Gallery (SO 4/18/11) in The Swap Gallery by Taniquel on: April 13, 2011 02:53:25 AM
My wonderful package from Nilmerg arrived yesterday. I just realised I forgot to include the fabric scraps she had left over in the photo, Nilmerg excelled in using as much as possible of the fabric.
On the left we have a bookmark, a cuff, a coaster and an eyespy bag (unfilled) In the middle, a headband and a pincushion. On the right, a necklace and two different pouches.

The fabrics she gave me a lovely leaf print and animals for applique.

Thanks Nilmerg.

I received from Camelama

I love it, love the applique, love the lining fabric, love the needlebook (how did you know I needed one?)

It has a variety of pockets of different sizes, and Camelama also sent me some knitting notions - she must have some weird psychic power, because they were all things I needed.

3  Re: Secret Summer Santa Wish List Swap 2010 Discussion & Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Taniquel on: July 31, 2010 03:06:25 PM
Here's pics of my goodies from Tanza

Good thing the book is washable, it already has food on it  Roll Eyes There are 11 different animals in it. The buddha is lavender scented, smells delicious. I think I may make a book bag from the dinosaur pillowslip. cute halloween fabric.

Jake and I love it, thanks.

Here are the Tshirts I received from Troublet (don't mind the neck ornament, he's being a bit clingy), she has really nailed my style. I've been wearing the purple one today, the cells (amoeba?) go all the way around the shirt.

Here's what I made for Metalvyxen, a Bombom amigurumi coin purse:

I was really pleased with how it turned out.

6  Bombom amigurumi coinpurse in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Taniquel on: May 20, 2010 07:43:47 PM

I made this for the science/geek OTT swap, my partner requested something crocheted, and preferred something useful so I adapted this ami pattern into a zippered coin purse. It is based off this free pattern:  http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.com/2009/04/bombomb.html to add the opening I added an extra row in the middle with 4 sc's and the rest as a chain.

The zipper got sewn in by the tape using normal sewing thread.

I lined it with some taffeta fabric I had lying around, just cut out rough circles larger than the actual purse, which got sewn to the zipper tape

here's a shot of him squished flat

9  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 12 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Taniquel on: February 13, 2010 02:12:05 PM
I finally have photos of the yarn ball Jane Doe sent me. (no wrapped pics, I took one with my mobile but I can't get it off at the moment, hubby has absconded with the cable and I don't like my chances of getting it back)

The ball was wrapped in the green yarn, with a pattern for felted slippers. She included a pattern for baby booties to make with the (vintage) blue yarn, it is inside the folder with the other pattern. On the pattern is a stitch marker and a dichroic glass button (I LOVE glass) and a  pink/red batt (must learn to spin, although I could felt with it. (incidentally found out my Mum knows how to use a drop spindle when she admired the swap package. Unfortunately she doesn't have her drop spindle anymore, but yay! I now have someone who can show me in person))
Ribbons (I am a huge ribbon addict) and lace, wrist cuff, Aussie flag stickers, lollies, some lovely silky yarn, brooch, roving in a record bowl (always secretly wanted one of these) and a magazine.

Thanks Jane Doe

i got a great package from kittenwrangler on friday, here are photos:

2 nappy bucket liners, so I can just throw the contents into the washing machine without touching (love the stripes, and they fit perfectly), baby wipes made from recycled Tshirts (lovely and thick)
meal planners with shopping list and a cosy to hold them,  done in a nifty way that makes them into a booklet (sorry about the crap photo, my only camera option right now is hubby's DSLR, which I find a bit intimidating)
and: a crocheted bone teether

already being put to good use Smiley
