51  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: The Fabulous Shopping Singlet Continued on: December 17, 2008 03:28:12 AM
Craftydeb - I was able to visualise queenofdiy's original handle method and could work it out (there were some similarities to tinyhappy's shoulder bag handle) but when I read your handle method and gave it a try its an absolute breeze! I have even managed to use the method on tinyhappy's tute (albeit that it is a bit tricky with the long handles but it gives a much better finish).

I am extremely grateful to queenofdiy for the original tutorial for these. I made 14 for my husband to give as gifts to his staff (he is a school principal) and I have made 8 to give as gifts myself plus two for me!!!!!

I heartily recommend craftydeb's handle method and thank her for it - it is so easy!!!!

I also have to thank cute_anarchy. I used her method of folding the bags without adding the pockets.

Well they are all just down right gorgeous!!!!!!!!!! The fabrics are all wonderful!!! Well done. Yep heartofmary is a clever one! Only just moments ago I finished making one of her journal covers for a Christmas gift. Her directions are always so clear - mind you my finished product is never quite as polished as hers - or yours for that matter!!!

I l-o-v-e the colours and the very practical handle so it can be worn across the body!!! Well done!

Oh greeneggsandham you are so right!!!! I am so grateful to all the generous people who have shared their talent on this site. As well as developing a passion for bag making from here ( I think I now suffer from OBD - obsessive bag disorder!!!!), I have had immense fun just reading and looking!!!

Hi green eggs and ham, I think your pattern is the one hour bag which can be found at:  http://vintagericrac.blogspot.com/2008/01/1-hour-bag-tutorial.html

It is a great easy to sew pattern although I wasn't as clever as you were when I tried it. I didn't manage a zip!

Oooh - very nice! I'm sure Mum and bub will be very happy to be seen out and about with this little number. Diaper bags (or nappy bags to us down here is Australia) are so much more stylish than when my kids were babies - mind you that was some time ago!!!!
