21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My skirt addiction on: November 09, 2004 09:32:08 PM
I made this out of a pair of shorts

This was from the bottom of a shirt, some ribbon, a couple of buttons and

This is from the bottom of a shirt that was too small for me. Very good in the winter!
22  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / New and improved suitcases! on: November 09, 2004 09:25:30 PM
I have a thing for old, hard shelled suit cases and so brought some from the neighborhood thift store and couldn't help but re-vamp them.

This was the first suitcase I brought. I could pack my family in this thing it HUGE! I took this on a trip to Vegas so it's been through the motions.

I just pasted some pics from Vogue and covered it in Vinyl and packaging tape.
What great tape!

This is my recent one that I brought for $5. It's not competely done yet. I have to add green tape around the edges. I just used masking tape, acrylic, silver tempera (I hate tempera!), a couple of those little plastic eyes and a couple of re-runs of Stargate SG-1.

I'm so HAPPY!!! Grin
23  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / I remember my first skirt and dress. on: October 25, 2004 08:17:24 PM
I remember the first skirt my mom helped me sew. It was from a simplicity pattern and was SUPPOSED to be simple! We were doing everything together and everything was going smoothly until my mom stopped helping me, thinking I could handle it on my own.

 Shame, shame, shame Sad

I sewed the whole thing BACKWARDS! That's were the sewing adventure was over and I turned my tornado right back to Kansas.
A couple of years later I learned how to sew and began making my own patterns and decided to make a dress. So I was sewing the dress with this fabric that had two different sides and I wanted to use one and the left side came out good but I forgot to turn the pattern over to match the sides, and let me just say...the dress was not cute. But I'm a trooper.
24  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Vegas jewerly phase! on: October 14, 2004 08:54:46 PM
I visited my sister in Nevada and we did a little bonding which of course means I introduced her to her VARIOUS, extremely close (well for someone who lives in a driving state at least) crafting store. This bonding cost us her whole summer savings but she hasn't complained (because she's probably lost in Micheal's somewhere. Don't worry she's in her 30s she reach the exit by 40...yeah.)

My Pride and Joy
