1  Mushrooms, Flowers and Bunnies. in Shoes: Completed Projects by Greybow on: March 09, 2009 12:14:14 PM
I made them about a year ago. The colors faded a bit since then but I still love them.
I used transfer color which you normally have to put on a plastic foil at first and then iron on. I directly put them on the shoe and it seems to work. I also used some other colour (which I don't know the english name for, but they were similar to the other ones) and sequins which I put on the wet paint. They don't hold well, so next time I'll sew them on.

there is an in-progress-shot, where you can also see the materials I worked with.

the finished shoes looked like this:

the details:

that's it. I have to admit that I'm damn proud of them. several people asked me if I bought them and were quite surprised when I told them that I made them Cheesy

Tell me what you think =)
please forgive me, if there are any writing mistakes, I'm not from an english-speaking country.
and thank you really much for looking at my shoes =)

2  Save the planet & a reindeer. in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Greybow on: January 29, 2009 11:42:11 AM
I got fimo for my birthday so I made some little things with it, being inspired by all the cute stuff you guys posted here  Wink.

First I made a pendant, 'cause something just poped up in my head and made me want to have a blue pendant which looks a little kitschy and plastic-like.

It's made with the help of pens and it nearly turned out how I wanted it to be. The edges are a little edged, though.
I also photoshopped the little picture and sealed everything with clear nail polish, because I couldn't find clear vanish.

Last Sunday I felt down, so I made this save-the-world-bracelet to make me feel better.
It is supposed to remind me of the nature and the climate change and that we have to do something about it.
Maybe it also reminds other people of that, and that's something that would make me happy.

the little bird turned out really crappy, but I like how the rainbow turned out, there were some horrible versions before I got it right.

what do you think? comments and critic appreciated  Wink

3  Purple Beret | something to make that stupid wintertime nicer... in Crochet: Completed Projects by Greybow on: December 30, 2008 11:58:47 AM
So some time ago I saw a tutorial on making a beret with a bow on it, and I think the bow made me wanting to have a hat like that. So I bought some nice purple wool.
The only problem was I didn't know how to do that stich which was needed. I tried some things and came up with something that isn't a normal stitch, but I have no idea what it is called or if it even exists Cheesy
I followed the tut but recognized that it was too small. So I added some more rows and changed some other things.

sadly there wasn't enough wool left to make the bow... but I like it anyway cause it's so nice an purple and came out how I wanted it to be (well... beside the bow) Wink

I don't think it's much similar to the beret in the tut so I think I don't have to give credit cause in the end it was my own pattern.

tell me what you think, is there something missing I could put on the beret or is someone able to recognize that stitch (I don't know if you can see it very good in the picture..)?
comments appreciated =)

4  Alice In Wonderland Hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Greybow on: November 02, 2008 01:00:24 PM
Hi there,
It all started with that pink hoodie I had. And since I really don't like pink I didn't wear it.
But beside that it was a nice hoodie so I decided to dye it. Said, done.
I had a little problem with that which caused an interesting, white, batik-like pattern on the hoodie but it looks nice so I don't worry about it.
The next step was to sew on ears using some scraps of an old top/sweatshirt.

Then, laying in my bed, instead of sleeping an idea popped up in my mind.
So the next day I made the Alice in Wonderland-patches using print-on-transfer-stuff.
After sewing them on and changing the band that is in the hood, my new hoodie was finished.

On to the pictures:

I took this from my friend's and my journal because I was to lazy to write it again  Grin

I hope you like it,
Comments and criticism are appreciated Cheesy

5  Birthday Bag And Wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Greybow on: October 27, 2008 03:38:55 PM
My mum's birthday was today, so last week I went to IKEA and bought some nice fabric. I made a bag for her because she likes practical things.
I didn't use a patter, just took one of those grocerybags made out of fabric and copied the measurements.
The handles are quite wide cause it's more comfy to carry this way. (Okay, I wasn't able to make them more narrow...  Wink)
Then, for some cuteness (cause I like cute things) I added some hearts made of the same fabric.

I also made a wallet with the same fabric and a snap hook I took off of one of those bands you can hang around your neck, using this tutorial. It was very easy to follow, even for a sewing-newbie like me. Thanks for adding it, CheyElizabeth!

My Mum likes it and took it to the shopping-tour today Smiley

What do you thing?

6  crocheted plastic bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Greybow on: October 05, 2008 08:08:33 AM
I got inspired by this site though I used no pattern.
My bag is mostly made of H&M plastic bags and one from a computer shop.
It's lined with a red plastic bag (to cover the holes. and it's also matching the red parts of my bag Cheesy) and some IKEA fabric (the only one I had here so it's not really matching...)
--> it's waterproof  Wink

the whole bag, I added the red bow because... I like bows.

close up of the outside so you can see the red plastic bag..

the inside - I even added velcro so I can close it.

I'm not sure if I'll use it... maybe it's a little strange to walk around like that here in Germany...

what do you think?
Thanks for looking! =)

7  two pairs of arm warmers in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Greybow on: September 14, 2008 09:25:00 AM
at first I wanted to have striped arm warmers so I took a cheap black and white striped tank top and sewed them. by hand. because the crappy sewing machine I can use isn't able to sew stretchy fabrik. (or maybe it's just me  Wink) I'm proud about how the seams came out... not sure if you can see them in the pictures, but I guess it's a good sign if you can't.

the second pair I made didn't come out as nice as the first one... I made them out of an old pullover which shrunk in a very strange way...
you can see it on this photo. the green and the turqoise stripes shrunk, the black an the cream ones not.

the pullover didn't fit anymore but the sleeves were still nice so I took them of and made arm warmers.
handsewed them too for the same reason.

action shot:

they're very cuddly and warm, I like them even though they look a little strange and are too wide. They'll be perfect for winter.

What do you think?
Thanks for looking! =)

8  made with randomness. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Greybow on: September 13, 2008 09:08:19 AM
some random jewellery I made with stuff which I had lay around...

earrings out of hello kitty figures which you can get in that pink plastic eggs, some plastic beads from my little sister, wire and recycled earring holders. They're a little heavy.

bracelet out of shells <3 ... I collected the ones with hohles and put the smallest on the bracelet together with some wooden beads which I found at home.

I'm not entirely sure if this counts as reconstructed because the sequins are new but the earring-thing is recycled.

I didn't do much, just took the hello kitty from a big hairclip and hot glued it on the headband.

hope you like them,
thanks for looking  Smiley

9  Keyboard Jewellery in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Greybow on: September 11, 2008 12:13:28 PM
I made them during my summer holidays. I used an old keyboard which belonged to my dad.
at first I had to cut them because the keys had some strange things in the back and then I drilled the holes in each of them.
I made three pieces of jewellery out of them:

this necklace took the most time but I think it's quite cute, I like it. and it's a little purple, yay Cheesy the keys are very random.
I wore it to school today and the girls liked it, too.

this is a Muse necklace just because I love the band Muse Grin

this is a rainbow bracelet, the letters on the keys say "rainbow" and the beads I added are in the colours of the rainbow, too.

Sorry, no action shots..
I still have some keys left but no clue what to do with them, any ideas?
Thanks for looking! =)
