1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Etsy Sellers, how do you feel about on: August 30, 2008 08:38:17 AM
I haven't started an Etsy store yet, I hope to in the next year or so.
My question is - How do you Sellers feel about the importance of returns and refunds?
Some people offer them, some people don't.  Does it matter to the buyer?
It seems like it could get kind of sticky for the seller to get into but I also feel it is the right of the consumer if they aren't happy with their purchase.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / UGH! on: August 26, 2008 05:36:26 PM
I made the Summer Serendipity Tote today from Sewing Republic and I hate it.  Cry
Don't you hate when you don't like the bag you've just made!?
The strap is WAY, WAY too wide and it isn't long enough to sling over your shoulder.
I'm going to try to fold it in half tomorrow and sew it somehow.

Like I said, I'm a double strap girl.  Cheesy  I tried the single sling but it just didn't work out.   ;Dhehehehehe

Has anyone else tried this bag and loved it?
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Saturday Curiosities........ on: August 16, 2008 01:08:45 PM
When looking through all my handbags, storebought and all, I noticed nearly every bag I have is double handles (front and back).
I don't hardly have any single shoulder strap bags (side to side).
hehe, I guess I have a preference and I wasn't even aware of it.

So I wondered about all the craftsters and bag makers, do you notice a personal preference in your choice of bags?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Making a robe..... on: August 13, 2008 08:22:12 PM
Hi all,
I'm wanting to make a robe or a few robes for Christmas gifts.
I don't have a serger but my simple Brother does have an overlock stitch.
Should I use this on the arm seams and such?  Will it give me a similar 'sealing' stitch like a serger?
I'm not a clothes maker but bought the pattern and want to use it.  I just don't have much experience with clothing.
Will the overlock stitch work?
Thanks so much for your help!  Kiss
5  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / What zippers do you use? on: August 08, 2008 08:02:50 AM
I've only got access to Coats&Clark zippers and I'm not sure I love them.  But I like getting to see the color before purchasing.
Heard lots of good things about YKK zippers.......
So what do you all fancy for your zippers?
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Sew In Interfacing on: August 02, 2008 06:24:37 AM
For those of you who sew in interfacing, what do you do with the seam?
All I can think of is to cut it really close to the sewn line.
HELP??? Cheesy
7  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Handbag preferences on: July 25, 2008 01:24:15 PM
After reading alot of the 'buyer turn off's' I would appreciate your opinions......
When buying a handbag on Etsy does it matter to you if the fabric is prewashed and dryed?
I've never had a problem with shrinkage or bleeding on good quality fabric but want to know from a consumer's standpoint if this is an important aspect to you.
8  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Do I need a tax id or something? on: July 19, 2008 05:04:23 PM
Do I need anything like a tax id or anything to sell on Etsy?
Any special requirements I should know about before jumping in?
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Would you carry...... on: July 19, 2008 01:19:32 PM
Would you carry a RED bag?  Just curious the percentage of women who would carry a red bag.
I would, I know my Mom wouldn't.

How about a white bag?
Yes, I would carry a white bag too.  Cheesy

Love to know what you all think.

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Guidance for square bottom bag - PICS of finished bag ADDED! on: July 18, 2008 06:32:54 PM
Hi All,
I'm making my first square bottom bag and want to confirm something before I cut.....
If my square bottom is going to be 3inches do I need to add 1 1/2 inches to the top of my bag?
Thank you so much.  Kiss

I was so dizzy after sewing the polka dot lining!  Tongue
