1  Re: Longing for New Moon: from Forks to Italy and back in The Swap Gallery by nurseninja on: August 31, 2009 07:38:12 PM
Here are my Twilight Goodies!!!

Everything was packed in a TWILIGHT DIAPER BAG!!! lined in vinyl- seriously how did you sew that stuff??? I've tried and it is HARD! The bag has bottle pockets on either side, two velcro pockets in front, a hidden zipper pocket in the back, and elastic pockets inside, plus a key holder. WOW!! It is jet black with a black and white lining covered in clear, and red contrast stitching.

Edward!! this is a hand painted wooden figure with bronze hair ::sigh:: I will put this in the baby's room once it arrives, until then he stays on my nightstand!

A shirt for my little one from Renesmee! I'm going to attempt breast feeding so this is very accurate.

Etched be safe candle holder (came with a red candle inside)

Brace yourselves....Shrinky-dink Jewelry! Earrings from each book and a charm bracelet.

handmade stickers of all my fave vamps. (for some reason kept photographing blurry--cause of the shine??)

Keychain (I heart EC) this will hold my work keys.

Chalk board picture frame (for my ultrasound)

I love everything your package totally blew mine away!! you are amazing I cant even wrap my mind around how you pieced the bag together! THANKS HONEY!!

PS there was chocolate...but it's gone =)

2  Aloha! Bridal Shower Cakes! in Dessert by nurseninja on: June 14, 2009 07:41:34 PM
My friend got married in Nov on Oahu and I just rediscovered the pics I took of the cakes I made her for her shower.

Since we are in full on wedding season again I thought I would post.
I made the cakes themselves from recipes on razzledazzlerecipes.com (I love that site!) I just don't remember the exact recipes i picked and of course tweaked...

A hut butter-rum and coconut cake with pepperidge farm cookies as sticks and green coconut grass.

Assembly: simple two layer cake, frost, pile more frosting on top (tall!) cover in cookies, surround with green coconut

A white chocolate shell encrusted vanilla with triple vanilla buttercream icing

Assembly: double frost one layer cake, Chill, mold chocolates, unmold, brush with "glitter dust" (in baking aisle), chill, top cake

Hope they make you hungry!

I'm going to a shower tonight for one of my techs. She just had her 3rd son and has a great sense of humor so I whipped up this special onesie.
I'm hiding it in a basket of traditional gifts so she will won't expect it. He He

A piece of lace for my stash and 1 of 3 homemade soaps (the other 2 are in use!)

Earrings she made herself (I like the amoeba ones!) Yes they are complete pairs this just photographed better

Books (there are like a bazillion uses for borax!) The vogue will really help me thin out my yarn stash- thanks

A recycled cashmere hat (very warm) and a blue ear-warmer/headband

A piece of blue wool from japan for my stash and a crochet flower. The wool is a tight weave fabric with pink bands in it and the flower is bright red yarn in a rosette pattern (the pic would not upload) you can see them in the group shot

Group shot

Thanks! The hat has already been worn 2 times and I've had to fight my sister in law off of the pink earrings!

8  Re: Twilight Rnd. 5 Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by nurseninja on: February 17, 2009 07:48:58 PM
I received the best package in the history of forever! I opened the box to find all sorts of mysterious tissue packages and a letter from the Coven telling me how much they missed me. (*sniff* i miss them too)

Here is what they all sent me as tokens of their affection:

From Jasper and Bella a hand bound and illustrated journal *pics do not do the illustrations justice!! they are amazing* Each page is filled with quotes and quips from Bella, Jasper, Alice and Jacob. It is lined with music and the Heart on the cover is cause I'm in cardiac!

From Alice: PANTIES!!!- cause she understands my underwear fashion obession! These are all beautifully stenciled and decorated- some even sparkle!

From Dr. Cullen a job offer and a wicked cool scrub top to get me started (Nurse Cullen paging Edward please meet me in the 3rd floor linen closet- hehe)

From dearest Edward- an artful bowl made from his fave- Clair de lune and the record cover morphed into a keepsake box! (you have no idea how long I've wanted one of these and never had the courage to try and make one!

From Esme and Bells bookmarks: Bella reminds me that even stone can become a butterfly, and Esme's hand beaded bookmark to remind me  that Forks is never far.

From Esme tea to warm me up like a hug, From my teddy bear Emmett a keychain to remind me that I can drive back anytime and a Forbidden Fruit Ornament

From Rose, a prism on a hand beaded cord. Its just like her, cold, hard, and sparkly!

From Bella her handmade Lavender soap and Lavender dryer sachets (to help me catch my own "brooding vampire")

Group Shot

Candle note: I also received a yummy smelling pillar candle from Jacob made by "bella candella!" I couldn't get the picture to come out right.

Thank you forever and ever  craft goddess jennieingram!! These were the best presents I have received in years (don't tell my hubby)

I'm so worked up now I'm going to have tea, read in the tub while washing with lavender soap (an a candle lit of course!), then bookmark the pages, put of fresh undies and a scrub top that is scented with lavender, then go for a drive (still not wearing pants!), gaze into my prism and admire my  record bowl of treasures, then journal about the whole experience--- SOUNDS LIKE A PERFECT  EVENING TO ME!! ::wink::

9  Twilight Cullen Crest Sweater (a bit pic heavy) in Stenciling: Completed Projects by nurseninja on: February 14, 2009 01:58:14 PM
I made this for a recent swap. It is a magnetic jacket from Wal-Mart with freezer paper stenciling and 3 coats of speedball ink. in the pockets there are "sup-rises" stenciled in.  (a russet wolf and a sparkly heart) I finally accented the jacket with contrast stitching.

Hope you like! more projects to come!

10  Twilight Eclipse Seam Ripper and Pin Dish (in polyclay) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by nurseninja on: February 13, 2009 04:58:05 PM
I made this for a recent swap- The seam ripper is simply rolled in clay with a paper clip hanger. I made the pin dish by mashing clay around 8 magnets in the base.

OH yea and the red and silver clays are *sparkly*

My mastiff Bentley is helping to model the pin dish!!
