1  The White Rabbit in Halloween Decor and Parties by NiinaMaria on: October 25, 2015 02:13:55 PM
I hope you don't think I'm spamming you...I honestly think you will appreciate this one too.
Like I said, I hoarded all the sheets of Halloween in Wonderland-paper my local craft store had.
This is my third craft from the set (and there is still some left)...A white rabbit collage.

I love this so. The composition! The glitter! There's an annoying Finnish rapper, who sounds like a knock-off of
Ja Rule and he keeps repeating this in his songs, but I'm going to quote him anyway: Aah.

Sometimes one just has to acknowledge the good job they did themselves.

2  Some paper craft designs I did... in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by NiinaMaria on: October 22, 2015 07:15:51 AM
Couple of weeks ago I posted my Halloween-sign thing on my local craft FB-group and a lot of people fell in love with the harlequin patterned paper. I decided to get all generous and
designed a similar paper for people to use in their crafts. Then I asked, if people need some other kind of papers and someone requested skulls. The harlequin pattern is straight from my brain but for the skull paper I used a freebie from Graphic's Fairy.

BTW...Did you notice, that Ikea used Graphic Fairy's images in their paper products?

Anyhoo, I thought to share these over here as I think you'd appreciate these papers. If you are interested downloading them, there's a link to my blog in my signature. I've given a licence to use the papers in crafts to sell too. Because I personally hate stingy people Wink

And the skull paper, of which I made two versions. The skulls are slightly different size in them for technical reasons. My printer couldn't handle the smaller skull in the white on black version:

Also, I wasn't sure, if this is the correct board, so feel free to move to the correct place.

3  Alice in Halloweenland Collage in Halloween Decor and Parties by NiinaMaria on: October 21, 2015 02:05:01 PM
Remember the Mad Hatter- lamp I made? Anyhoo, I made this art work to go with it. I'm not an experienced collage maker but I think I captured the mood pretty well this one. I used a cover of an old kids' book as the backing and covered the edges with black washi. Other than that, there's no special techniques used in making this. Just some distressing, matting and fussy cutting. Simple but ah, so effective!

Hope you like it!

4  Happy Halloween Sign in Halloween Decor and Parties by NiinaMaria on: October 14, 2015 02:58:22 PM
Yet another Halloween project...

I bought this random decor piece for two euros at a local outlet store. This couldn't be more simple to do. Some pretty paper and Halloween themed text from a cut apart scrapbooking sheet. Total cost was about 4 euros.

I shared this also at Finnish FB craft group. One member fell in love with the harlequin paper and since mine is from an old collection and it doesn't seem no other company does one currently, I decided to design one for free to print. There's a link in my signature to my blog and peeps can download it from there if they are interested. It's also free to use in crafts meant to be sold.

5  A Mad Hatter Lamp in Halloween Decor and Parties by NiinaMaria on: October 01, 2015 12:16:43 PM
Last Christmas I found some Halloween in Wonderland papers at my local craft store and hoarded quite a few of them. Then few weeks ago, my landlady gave me an old busted lamp to do something with and I decided to use my new old papers for it.

The process of making it was fairly simple although it did take few hours to make. I used paint, washi tape, tacky glue, Distress Ink, and scrapbook paper for the project and the total cost was around 4,5 euros. Not too bad! Here are some pics:

6  Spooky Halloween Cards in Get Product and Website Opinions by NiinaMaria on: September 26, 2015 03:29:23 AM
Few weeks ago, I had a brilliant idea of making all my Halloween crafts in September, so that for once I'd have the posts ready
for my blog for October. Surprisingly I've been able to sit on my things over a week now, but today I reached the breaking point and
I just must share.

I used a Carta Bella 'Spooky'-collection kit for them but there are some papers by Fancy Pants and October Afternoon as well.
There's a market tomorrow, where I'm going to sell my second hand clothing and I was thinking selling these over there too.
What do you think of the pricing 3,80 a piece and 3 for 10? Or is it too much?

Anyhoo...here they are:

Hope you like them!

7  Vincent van Gogh inspired maxi skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by NiinaMaria on: September 26, 2015 03:18:52 AM
This summer, I finally managed to cut into a pair of curtains, I've had in my stash (and up on my window) for quite a few years.
They are from 70s I think and I originally paid under 10 euros for them. Anyhoo...I didn't use any pattern. I flipped the curtain sideways,
set a zipper on the seam in the back, made some pleats and added a waistband. I even winged the pockets!

What do you think?

8  DIY Love Lights in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by NiinaMaria on: February 13, 2015 12:40:29 PM
Don't you just love cheap and fast crafts? I bought bunch of these cute cupcake cups(?!?)
and came up with the idea to turn them into cute fairy lights. I had some leftover LEDs from
Christmas decorating so the total cost for the whole project was 5 euros and that includes the

I sent the set to my god-daughter and lined inside the box with some pretty pink paper:

9  Lalaloopsy Outfits in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by NiinaMaria on: January 31, 2015 10:32:59 AM
My friend's kids are really into a kids' show called Lalaloopsy. I think it's already old news in US but it just started showing here in Finland. I helped my friend to find some Lala- toys on Ebay, since there isn't that much available over here and that hunting inspired me to make couple of outfits for the girls to play Lalaloopsies themselves!

I used an H&M T-shirts as bases for the tops. Changed the sleeves to puffy ones and added some vintage fabric-covered buttons and a ruffle. The skirt (and the sleeves) are made of vintage fabric from the 60s.

Sorry about the blurry Instagram-photos. Here's one of the girls wearing her outfit:

10  Valentine's Day Wall Art in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by NiinaMaria on: January 30, 2015 06:11:08 AM
I had a brief debate myself about which category this project belongs in but since I altered two cheap wall art pieces, I figured this would be the correct one.
Couple of weeks ago I found some wall art pieces I first were going to use for another project but since Valentine's Day is coming up and I had tons of this Crate Paper-collection in stash, I thought it would be good time to do something pink & cute!

There are couple of detail shots in my blog https://thriftyfinn.wordpress.com/2015/01/30/valentines-day-wall-art/. Hope you like this!
