91  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Red transparent dye for resin turns clear! D: on: July 10, 2008 07:28:00 PM
Hi everyone! A search page led me to this place, and I'm so glad!

I've been having problems with dyeing my polyester resin. I add the dye to my resin, bake it, then it turns clear! It was a beautiful deep red, then all of a sudden it disappeared. Is heat the problem? If it is, I'll probably encounter this problem even if I don't use the oven to cure it. Has anyone had this problem?

Actually, now that I've gotten out my stuff, the green and amber jewelry was affected too. Sad The only one not affected was the blue and it's very royal blue-ish.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Smiley
