1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Xyron 900 Trouble on: February 12, 2011 08:14:50 AM
Hey fellow paperpals!

I just purchased a Xyron 900 from ebay for an awesome price.  i finally got it in the mail today and turns out the cartridge is having some issues.

It appears the paper adhesive (the white part, not the clear) is not properly alligned and is getting caught on the guard on the lefthand side.  Has anyone had this problem?  if so, how did you fix it?

Any help is appreciated.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Gift idea for boyfriend's super awesome mom on: July 06, 2010 11:12:12 PM
So, I recently made a quilt for my nephew's first birthday.  Since it was only my 1st quilt and it was quite an undertaking, my boyfriend of a year's mother offered to help me.  She basically let me take over her entire dining room, leave boxes and boxes of supplies at her house and stayed up several nights until the wee hours of the morning helping me cut, offering ideas, and generally making my job a lot easier.

I want to do something nice for her that shows how much I appreciated her help.  She enjoys sewing, quilting, and other crafts.  I'm a recent college grad that is still looking for work, so money is kind of an issue.  However, I do have a lot of crafty materials that I've collected over the years at my disposal including polymer clay, tons of fabric, a sewing machine, lots of paints, and some jewelry making material. However, she doesn't wear a lot of jewelry (really just her wedding ring) so I'm not sure anything down that path would work.

She was just such a big help and I want to show her how much it means to me.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Hobbles needs help! on: September 28, 2009 07:32:52 AM
So, I have a halloween party to go to on October 30th.  It's a family party with a costume theme of course.  My boyfriend and i were already struggling on costume ideas, but had finally narrowed it down to either 1)Pebbles and Bamm Bamm (which was my FAVE idea), 2)Fry and Lela from Futurama or 3)20's costumes.  I'd be a flapper, he'd get a zoot suit.

And then....

I fractured my foot.   Sad  Now I'm in a walking boot for 6 weeks, which means that I'll have it through Halloween.

So I'm hoping my crafty friends can help me out!

the boot is grey and on my left foot.  Anyone have any creative ideas to incorporate it into a costume?  I'm up for anything (just remember that kiddies will be at the party, so nothing too gory or risque)  Funny or cute factor gets bonus points!  Smiley

I really want to have a good costume!  So ANY ideas are appreciated!  THANKS!!!! Smiley

Peace, Love, Music, and Art!

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Lindy Luau on: April 14, 2009 08:46:47 AM
Hey there craftsters!  I need some help.

I am the president of a Swing Dancing group on my campus, and our big annual Swing Ball is THIS FRIDAY.  The theme is Luau/Hawaiian.  I need some crafty ideas for the decorations.  I've got a few things, but I'm worried they won't be enough.  We're using bright pinks, yellows, greens, and blues.  The biggest thing I'm worried about are centerpieces, but I could use ideas for ANYTHING.

I'm desperate to make this thing AWESOME, as elections are the following Monday, and a successful Swing Ball helps for a successful re-election.   Smiley

So ANY ideas are welcome.  Keep in mind that we ARE on a budget.  Oh, and I live in nowhere, Indiana, so tropical coconuts and such arent' exactly easy to come by.

I'm counting on you.  Thanks!!!!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / party ideas, HELP! on: September 10, 2008 10:27:34 PM
So my best friend from back in high school is getting hitched and i'm the maid of honor.  It's a very small wedding and i need to plan a bachelorette party for about 8 people, (7 girls and 1 gay guy. ha!)  We can't do drinks or a night on the town because not all of the attendees are of age...  it's been a bit hard to plan because i'm the only one who doesn't live in the city of the ceremony (i'm from there, but away at college right now) and i'm planning from an hour and half away.  it doesnt' help that we're on a budget and i hardly know the guests....

still, nonetheless, i plan to do a spectacular job.

so i'm asking for help from my fellow imaginators!

Her colors are pink, green, with touches of black and white (she's anything but traditional).  I was thinking an 80's theme might be cool.  Make a rubiks cube cake (or cupcakes...) and watch Molly Ringwald flicks...  I also saw a cool idea for a time capsule online that could go with the whole going back in time theme... she was born in '86, so a babies of the 80's thing wouldn't be too farfetched...

my mind is going a million miles a minute.

so here's the basics:
Bride:  Heather,  Groom:  Jim (not present at the party)
8 guests.
colors:  pink, green, black, white
under 21 options
though i'm not opposed to your typical penis/bachelorette party humor, i think i can be more creative than random male genetalia decor/jokes/ideas/themes.
on a budget.

some stuff about the bride:
likes to scrapbook
has 3 younger siblings
likes Starbucks
eclectic music taste
watches the Dead Zone, House, Bones...shows like that
anything but traditional
non-religious

...oh yeah, and i have about a month to do it in...

HELP!!!!

thanks craftsters!
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / images onto Polymer Clay on: July 03, 2008 12:55:13 PM
hey everyone!  i'm hoping my fellow crafsters can help me out.

I'm looking to transfer images (cheaply, if possible) onto polymer clay and I can't find a way to do it.  I found a tutorial using paint thinner, but it doesn't seem to work for me.  I've tried on both baked and pre-baked clay, and nothing's working.  I'm hoping to do color images, but black and white isn't even working yet.

Any ideas???

Thanks!!!
