Yup, they are five fingers!  He loves them, but tends to wear through them really fast... (they are thin soled gloves for the feet, basically...a shoe that aims to be as close as possible to walking in bare feet)

My husband does not like wearing pants.  (that sounds funny... try again)

My husband loves wearing shorts...  He will not wear pants, even in winter.  Yep, we get funny looks.  He also does not like wearing shoes, but I digress.

He requested some cuffed, plaid, comfy shorts for our summer travels.  Here is pair 1 of two.  They are a poly blend of some sort with a nice, grey and red plaid to them.  I am not keen on how the cuffs came out, but he really likes them  Smiley

A shot from out Montreal trip...

A shot from earlier in the summer, a bit closer up of the shorts.

I don't have any other shots with better detail, but I will post the other shorts, ASAP!

Thanks for looking!  Grin

Hey all,

here is my fabulous new skirt/dress!  I mostly wear it as a skirt, but on photo day, it was rather hot out and I was feeling more dressy.  It is made out of crinkly, super light cotton.   I used this tutorial https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=323055.0 as my direction for general proportions to cut out.  I was also (as usual) inspired by many of my husband's suggestions and it is he who has christened it the "wedding cake" skirt (if you have seen the post I did for our wedding, you'll understand why!)...

The top band is smocked. I tried to size it so it would work as the top of a dress but still be reasonably flattering as the waistband of a skirt.

It is very full, floaty, cool and bright.

Anyway, here it is!

Seated, as a skirt, sorry, the only *skirt* photo of the bunch...

As a dress!

Smocking Smiley

Twirly!  You get an idea of the fullness.  This was about 6 metres of fabric total, which very minimal left over.  Sorry for the sun spot!

The cake!  For reference... See if you can find the evil-faced strawberry Smiley

Thanks for looking!

Thanks  Grin

bananabanana, I started out with a piece that was double my bust measurement, but that turned out to be too much and I took off a few inches of smocking at the end.  I made a smocked skirt after this with 1.5 the width of my hips, plus an extra inch or two and that turned out much better.

It was about 3 yards with a full circle skirt and nice long straps Smiley
