11  My Latest Lolita Lovely... in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by alli.illektro on: December 27, 2009 10:10:14 AM

this dress was born out of finding this gorgeous fabric. its called 'doeskin' and its similar to micro suede or moleskin. its super soft and buttery. it felt so luxurious i HAD to have it! the gold color is actually just the reverse side of the same fabric! how easy! anyway, as usual, the pattern is self-drafted. hope you like.

14  lady gaga costume in Halloween Costumes by alli.illektro on: October 09, 2009 07:58:17 PM
i made this today for my sister. she has a better wig then this one, hers is long, straight, blonde with blunt bangs. this is just the best i had to show it off before i sent it to her. can u tell who its supposed to be?

some people mentioned that i should add a few more over-the-top accessories to really make it recogonizeable so i made a huge tulle head bow and added mirrored tiles to the glasses. i think its MUCH better now, yes?

15  another lolita dress: metamorphose replica in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by alli.illektro on: August 04, 2009 02:11:33 PM
hi! i found this amazing black cherry colored cotton/poly at SR Harris and i knew i wanted to make a replica of one of my favorite meta dresses out of it! (the pintuck JSK) sooo....tada!

the back is fully shirred Smiley my ruffler foot kept jamming (argh!) so i ended up HAND GATHERING the 30 so yards of ruffles. still- im glad i finished this- the pattern was drafted myself and im kinda impressed it pulled it off! lol

(edited to add pic of back) no action shots yet because im not really a lolita!

16  quick t-shirt recon in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by alli.illektro on: March 26, 2009 12:04:43 PM

ive had this one off printed shirt laying around for a while (sadly, i didn't do the lamb, thats by an artist called john grider.) but the problem was the lamb was printed facing the back of this shirt (oops) so...

i cut the sleeves off and cut across the top just under the collar, hemmed the top with enough room to run a braided piece of another old tshirt through to make a kind of backless halter. its so cute i cant wait to wear it this summer!

please excuse my crappy mirror pics. i live alone Tongue

17  pretty petti! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by alli.illektro on: February 26, 2009 08:40:58 PM
(petticoat!) this is my first attempt at one of these things. tulle is daunting. i attatched 5 layers of tulle to a off-white satin underskirt. in the future i would probably use a circle skirt for the underskirt tho..this ones a bit too small...also i sewed a few tiny pearl beads on the top layer to tulle just to add to the princess factor. *squee!*

18  ruffled sleeveless blouse in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by alli.illektro on: February 26, 2009 08:33:45 PM
i just finished this silk blouse using a slightly modified version of the "JJ" pattern over at Burdastyle. this is a great pattern to use if you want to make a basic button down fitted top because its really easy to modify- i left off the sleeves and extended the collar piece into a tie. Its my first time using a silk. it sucked. oh well, lesson learned. but i DO like the way the ruffles fray. i like the kinda decomposing roughness of it.

20  lolita tea party dress 4 spring! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by alli.illektro on: January 30, 2009 12:13:23 PM
thinking that spring is coming is pretty much the only thing keeping me going at the moment. on that vein, i cant wait for spring lolita tea parties and picnics! i made this dress with the spring in mind:

the fabric is a thick knit, (like for a sweatshirt) which makes the dress very comfortable. i overlocked the edges to give it that cute scallop edge.

(for some reason my dress form makes everything look really broad in the shoulders...it fits better on me Smiley

what do you think? is it missing anything? its so hard for me to decide when a piece is finally finished.

(oh yes. the pattern was from the english gothic lolita bible vol. 3, kana's one-piece. i think in the future id extend the pieces for the ruffles because i like my ruffles much fuller)
