1  Re: Birds are beautiful swap round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by hgolightly09 on: December 21, 2008 02:14:58 PM
Okay...so here's what sushiloveszombie sent me! Sorry it took so long to both send and post. It's been a crazy semester for me, and I totally underestimated it. Anyway...she sent me some AMAZING stuff.

Here it all is when it came...wrapped up really nice...

A neat hanging plate that will fit in perfectly in my kitchen!

Some really cute birdy earrings and hair clips...

Saving the best for last...this AWESOME necklace with my favorite colors! So pretty, and way better than anything I could ever make...

And then, the grande finale! She painted these wood pieces with three different bird scenes. These are my FAVORITE part of this swap! They're absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to hang them up in my room.

Thanks soooo much sushie! I absolutely love it all! Hopefully, she'll get hers soon since I sent it on Tueday finally...but seeing as it's the holidays it might take a bit longer...Anyway...great swap! Thanks for everything!  Grin

2  Re: It's All Greek to Me Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by hgolightly09 on: October 04, 2008 11:13:45 AM
Here we go! I finally got a chance to sit down and take pictures to put up here of all of the awesome stuff JustCheeky sent me!

She sent me this adorable picture frame! I love the colors and the painting on it!!

I also got a REALLY nice tote bag! It's the perfect size for my laptop and some of my books! I actually had to take stuff out of it to take this picture because I couldn't wait to use it!

And then she sent me this really really cute little bag with a lion sewn onto it!! You picked AMAZING colors and fabric. Right up my alley.

She also sent me a really cute little vinyl lion to put on something...I think it might go onto one of my officer manuals for the moment!

Thank you sooooo much for everything JustCheeky! I love it all!  Grin

3  Newbie Army Octopus in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by hgolightly09 on: August 27, 2008 01:37:52 PM
Okay, so this is my first venture into plush things. My boyfriend and I were talking about different animals and such and he decided that he wanted me to make him an octopus. So, I let him pick out the fabric. He decided on the Army seal and camo fabric...he's in the army if you couldn't guess haha and then I went to town on creating it! This is my first ever plushie, so It's not that great, but all in all, I think it turned out pretty well! I modeled it after one I saw on Etsy and it took me forever, but he was at least happy with it!

Here's the whole thing....

And here's a close up....

And the bottom...camo fabric of course! haha

Thanks for looking!!!

4  Re: It's All Greek to Me Swap (Sign Ups 8/8 - 8/18 *Send Outs 9/15) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by hgolightly09 on: August 17, 2008 09:05:47 PM
Since JustCheeky put up a few pictures, I thought I'd post some as well!

This is me, my diamond and my grand-diamond in our sorority suite. (Yes, we say diamond instead of big.)

Me (on the far left) and my pledge class, Spring 2006, on Bid Day! It seems like such a long time ago!

And this is me (far left again) and a bunch of my sisters before we went out one night...I think it was Bid Weekend or something.

I'm excited to see who my partner is! And yet, nervous since I've never done this before...

I did it!!! Even if it doesn't look half as good as yours!

Thanks so much for the tutorial! Even though my sewing is atrocious, I made this one for my friend who loves stars! Next on my list, a shoe iPod cozy made the same way for another friend! Thanks again for sharing this awesome project.  Grin

6  Memory Fold-Out Scrapbook in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by hgolightly09 on: July 19, 2008 04:51:07 PM
This is my first actual craft post!! (Go me!)  Grin

Although it's nothing too difficult and crazy, I made this memory book with pictures and things high school after I saw a friend make one for someone else.

All you do is take cardboard squares and cut out posterboard to fit in between in the funky shape, then fold it all together into the compact little square! You can do whatever you want to it basically.

I was using it as an example for a bunch of girls in my sorority since we were going to make them as a project, so this one's not too crazy. I just glued different colored tissue paper to the posterboard and put pictures on it.

Tell me what you think!
