1  Ahoy Matey! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by sarap1979 on: October 04, 2008 06:34:51 PM
My husband has been gone for 5 weeks, and they are finally coming home next week. So to welcome my sailor back I made my daughter a little sailor dress. It has anchor buttons on the back but I didn't snap a pic of that.

2  Mow my lawn- get free pie in Dessert by sarap1979 on: September 23, 2008 10:40:27 AM
So my husband is out to sea right now and my brother in law graciously offered to mow our yard. I was so so thankful so I made him an apple pie because he loves pie. Here is how it turned out- it is huge!
Pre top crust- there are over 4 pounds of apples!

With the top crust before baking-
After baking-
Is it wrong that now I don't want to give it to him? The house smells so good!

Okay, here are my long awaited onesies from Mary. Thank you so much, they are adorable!

Cute heart T Shirt:

Wild bunny applique:

and one from the store (which we still love, so don't sweat it!)

So thanks everyone, especially Barbalot for organizing and my partner for swapping. I was successfully broken in to swapping and had a great time!

4  Daddy's girl gets tattooed in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by sarap1979 on: August 29, 2008 05:40:05 PM
Hey Ya'll. So I made up a onesie so that my daughter, who already looks like her daddy, can now be even more like him. I mocked up his tattoos onto a onesie for her. Hope you like it. And hopefully she won't be asking for any real ones until she's 18.
First, a shot with daddy and baby, notice the dog snuck in, and my crafty area in the back.

Close up of the shirt. His belly tattoo says In God I Trust, but hers says In Milk I Trust.

5  You are so glad you aren't me AKA I HATE chiffon! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by sarap1979 on: August 18, 2008 08:25:51 PM
Okay, so I'm posting these because I just finished sewing this, and despite now hating myself for even daring to try chiffon, here it is completed and pretty much wearable. This was a labor for sure, and I should have known better as the lady was cutting it at the store and said "You're going to have fun sewing this" Ha! Yeah right. Here is the front,

And here is a grainy pic of the back with a vintage yellow button from my mom's stash.
Anyway, I'm posting because I need praise after nearly killing myself sewing this!

6  Orange Red Velvet Wedding Cake! in Dessert by sarap1979 on: August 18, 2008 08:22:18 PM
This is my first post to the food boards, but I made these cakes for a wedding this past weekend and was too proud to not share. So here you go, an orange iced red velvet cake for the bride, and a chocolate chocolate groom's cake for, well, the groom.

7  Fuzzy, Argyle, Winter Coat in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by sarap1979 on: August 12, 2008 11:24:59 AM
Here is the little jacket I just made for EC. She seems to like it and I had fun putting it together. Just wish I could have found a better coordinating zipper at the store. What do you think?

8  My sewing buddy in Completed Projects by sarap1979 on: July 13, 2008 06:03:29 PM
Here's my latest. I had forgotten all about this little project, it got lost in a bag of scraps. Found it today and whipped it up.

Hope you like it.

9  one pattern, two dresses, three days in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by sarap1979 on: July 03, 2008 06:08:25 PM
Here are two different takes on the same pattern. One is summery and in cotton,
the other turned out to be a little more dressy. I like them both and they have the added
bonus of having pockets, which I didn't realize at first. Smiley Super easy to sew, and I'm not super
experienced with clothing.
